I honestly cannot say enough good things about Child's World Encino. Trusting other people to care for your child is a huge thing, and something I was very nervous about at first. From the start, the teachers and administrators made us feel comfortable and supported, and you can just feel how much they care. What has always stood out to me is how loving and attentive everyone is. It never feels like just a job. They truly know the kids and show up for them every day, and that means a lot as a parent. Watching our daughter grow here has been really special. She is learning, becoming more confident, making sweet friendships, and she is genuinely happy to go each morning. There is something very reassuring about handing your child to people you completely trust. It makes such a difference knowing she is safe, happy, and in such good hands every day. We couldn't be happier with our experience at Child's World Encino. Our son has been there since he was 18 months old and will graduate from their TK/K program this year. From the very first day, the staff has made our son feel welcomed, supported, and loved. It's clear that the teachers truly care about each child and are passionate about early childhood education. Our son has grown so much socially and emotionally since starting here. He comes home excited to tell us about his day, what he learned, and the friends he played with. The curriculum strikes the perfect balance between structured learning and play-based exploration, which we love. Get this -- our kiddo is learning how to read at 5 year old and we owe so much of that to CWS. It's a GREAT school. The teachers are great, the kids love it, it's very safe and I need to say that it matters that the school's administrators understand that the parents are clients too, and CWS solves problems in a thoughtful, respectful manner taking into account and having empathy for the parent experience. Love CWS! I am choosing to keep my son there even though he could go to public. The hours cannot be beat. They are open from 7:15 to 5:30 which is great for someone like me who has to work. I also love the teachers and how it is a safe family feeling. I love that they have the option to buy lunch if I don't feel like packing one and the great enrichment classes. They also have a pool and offer swimming lessons in the summer! read more

Great experience having my daughter in the Toddler program at CWS! It was my first time leaving her with anyone and her teachers were so welcoming and loving to her! Was frequently updated via an app during the day with photos and updates about how much she ate for lunch and snacks and how long her nap was, etc. The classroom had a set schedule each day, with extra activities like music class once a week. They also had performers and other activities for the kids! We loved all the teachers and staff there, only reason we changed schools was due to the long commute from our home. Would definitely recommend CWS to others. read more

My son attended from 7 months-a little over a year, we only left because we moved. I felt like his teachers in the infant and toddler room truly cared about him. His days were always jam packed with activities, lots of outside time, songs, water play, painting,etc. They were great about posting photos all day and logging food and bathroom data. They were also great about sending alerts when a child in the class was sick, so you could keep your kid home if you wanted. The only thing I did not love was they moved my son from infant to toddler earlier than I would have liked, forcing one nap vs two. He was EXHAUSTED in the beginning and it was sad to watch, so ideally parents should have more say in that. Also they take more holidays/time off than other daycares I've been a part of so it requires a bit more planning on your part as a parent. But we very much miss the place and the teachers! Favorite school ever! You're greeted with a smile from every staff member when you walk in, and everyone is as friendly as they can be! Can't say enough great things about Child's World. Between my 2 kids, we have about 4.5 years of experience here and each year has been fantastic. The facilities are excellent and the school has always been quick to evolve and make improvements. The director, Vivian, is always easy to talk to and is extremely responsive to any questions and concerns. Every teacher we've ever had (Miss Arosha, Miss Liz, Miss Naila, Miss Julia) have been incredible. They are truly passionate about what they do and are so loving with the children. Both of my kids loved every teacher they had here. We visited many pre-schools across the SFV before finding Child's World and it was an easy decision to make. The academics are excellent (effective without being intense) and we appreciate the core values that the school tries to instill in their students. Personally, I think the curriculum is ahead of the game compared to other schools. My daughter will be moving to kindergarten next year and I believe her years at CWS have given her a really strong foundation to thrive wherever life takes her next. Best pre-school ever! read more

I fell in love with CWS the moment I took my first tour of the school. From the classrooms filled with student projects to the friendliness and warmth of the staff to the playground/grounds, everything is PERFECT! Our son was the youngest on campus (only 10 weeks) and the moment I met his teachers (Ms. Anie and Ms. Lusine), I took a breath and all of my first time parent worries went away. They had the biggest smiles (under their masks, of course), and gave our son the biggest hug as if he was their own. They communicate every BM, pee, feeding in real-time and share pictures of him with us all day. It's truly the highlight of my day (my son's grandparents are on the app as well and it makes them so, so happy). Our first day, our little man made an art project and it's currently hanging up on our fridge (it was a foot print with a cute design). With COVID, the students in the older classrooms wear masks, as do the teachers. Any time there is a possible exposure, we receive updates via email. Debbie, the director, is a rockstar and is always available to communicate. Apply early as CWS is very popular for all of the reasons listed above and more. This school has done such an amazing job handling Covid and ensuring my child and others receive the best preschool education. The teachers are warm, friendly, and so talented with how they teach our children. My child has thrived in the last 2 years since beginning here and I highly recommend this school to everyone! The versatility in the activities they engage our child in and how they have managed to continue to be creative with school events this past year has been great! Miss Sabrina is an amazing teacher who uses creative songs to teach different lessons that my son continues to sing months later. My daughter has been at CWS Encino for 1.5 years and is about to start in her third age group. All the teachers have been incredible. Shout outs to the wonderful ladies who've been molding our girl. Ms Lindsay and Ms Lusine in the infant room really helped me as a first time mom. The awesome Ms Kiah, Ms Alysa, Ms Anie and Ms Katie in the toddler room have helped our daughter grow leaps and bounds. After a few weeks in transition to the 2 year old room my daughter can't stop talking about Ms Liz and Ms Lorena helping her be a big girl. The facility is great and they offer so much love and learning for the little ones. The only thing that can be a little tough is that there are a lot of school closure dates throughout the year. Way more holidays observed and other days off than our work calendars allow. However, it seems pretty consistent with a lot of the bigger daycares I guess. read more

Over a year later and I still love this school. Wonderful administration and excellent teachers who are loving and maternal. Covid 19 posed a huge challenge to schools and CWS has adapted and put in place varied protocols that keep kids and families safe. Total transparency with new cases or exposures at school, brightwheel app for checking in & out plus updates with pictures and important information, resources and now testing on campus, class pods kept separate to minimize risk. Probably one of the worst preschools I have ever been to. I have many friends and relatives that told me about this place and I was absolutely disgusted. I went to pick up my nephew from his class and I asked the teacher how to work the QR scan because it was my first time. She told me to go and ask someone else and let me walk away with my nephew and no scan at all! How disgusting and irresponsible! These people do not care about the children at all. For them to tell me to go figure it out and that she doesn't know or care? You are the teacher, you definitely know how to do the SIGN OUT QR LOG. Parents Beware! In the toddler room, Teacher Miss Suzon screamed and grabbed my son's arm pinning him against the wall. She was suspended and allowed to return despite video surveillance evidence. Vivian, Director met with me initially never disclosing that she was Suzon's sister and made endless excuses for the behavior. The owners Evan and Mia displayed defensive posturing throughout many discussions. Mia, daughter to owners is the only one who attempted (or at least conveyed) that she would be objective. I would not recommend this school to anyone as the owners will go at length to cover unethical behavior from their leadership as well as verbal and physical actions teachers take against stu This is an update to my previous review: Please note I'm quite concerned that Evan L. indicated the review indicated no wrong doing. My child was grabbed by the arm and shoved up against the wall while the teacher was screaming at the top of her lungs which was shown on video. This is a family owned business and clearly the reason the teacher was able to return is due to nepotism. If your child's well being is mildly important to you then get to Child's World Encino ASAP! However if you require superior care for your child I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. In response to a recently posted negative review, I'd like to offer our account of our experience with Child's World School. We love it, and our children love it. Upon moving to the area last summer, we transitioned our daughter into Miss Desiree and Miss Mieka's room. As you'd expect with any child, our daughter had a bit of a tough time with the transition to the new school, following a move and the birth of her little brother. It was a rough time for the poor kid! But you know what? Miss Desiree and Miss Mieka went above and beyond to ease that transition. Within a very short time, our daughter was happy, fully adjusted and loving going to school. We attribute this to the care, attention and genuine love that her teachers gave her in this critical time to make her feel welcome in the class. This being the second daycare/preschool she has attended, we do have a point of comparison. Her first daycare was one in Santa Monica that shall remain nameless in this review. It was nearly 50% more in tuition, but that didn't equate to better care, better facilities, etc. In fact, we think my daughter has blossomed and grown so much more in the months that she has been at CWS. Sure, some of that has to do with her age, but overall, the environment she's been in at CWS has been one that's nurturing and fosters growth, learning, and creativity. Our son is now in the infant room and we have also been super pleased with the care he's receiving there. His teachers Miss Lusine and Miss Michelle are very hands-on, caring and attentive. The room is also very clean and tidy. Compared to the infant care our daughter received at the other daycare center, our son is getting much better quality care at CWS. Not only that, diapers and wipes are included with tuition! This was not true at the other facility, which again, was about 50% more in monthly tuition. read more

We've been part of the CWS community for 7 years. Both of my kids went there from infancy through transitional kindergarten. We've had terrific experiences with the school and its director. The environment is very friendly. The teachers are very accessible and open to suggestions. The infant room teacher was very helpful when I started feeding my daughter solid foods--making suggestions on new foods to try, because she had lots of experience and had seen it all! The curriculum is strong, and I was constantly (and pleasantly) surprised at all the things my kids talked about in the car on the ride home! To the reviewer who said the school was dirty: I've only seen the school look its best. There is constant cleaning going on, especially in the infant and toddler rooms. This school is truly a gem! My kids have been attending this school for the last 3 years and I cannot say enough great things. The director and assistant director are phenomenal! Our children attended CWS from toddler to TK. Our daughter attended from the age of 2.5 to 5 and our son from 15 months to 4.5 years of age. They both developed meaningful relationships with their peers and staff alike. They are still friends with those students to this day - our daughter is almost 12 and our son is almost 8!!!! That speaks to the amazingly wonderful place CWS is. They are both better humans because of their experience there. We visit every chance we get and are ALWAYS greeted with warm smiles and hugs. Our daughter has participated in the graduation ceremony 2 times now as alum. My husband and I have developed meaningful relationships with the staff as well. We are SO grateful for the staff and the level of dedication, caring, nurturing, guidance, and support they gave to our family over the years. Our family recommends Child's World School 100,000% and more. We have recommended the school to MANY families and they have been SO SO happy. read more

After ourt initial excitement with the classrooms at this place the luster wore off after our chld first started to attend. First we got the schedule, as it turns out there are a few days a month that they are closed to the kids. Which means that working parents need to pay for additional services or take off a few days a month. Either way. This is not a useful situation and the place should be avoided until they align their schedule with the parents needs . Secondly, my wife soured on their general practices very quickly. They were not using bibs or cleaning the kids hands and faces after they ate. Therefore their clothing was disgusting by the time they came home. We know this was true for all the kids because my wife was looking for work and was dropping our daughter of later in the day and picking her up earlier than normal and so she was seeing the status of the classrooms at different times than standard drop off and pick up times. In fact after our daughter got sick, my wife saw another parent at the doctors office who had just pulled his kid for the very same reason. Terrible hygiene and poor attention to the kids. Honestly, your child will survive here, but for the price you can find a much better place for your little ones. We did however get our deposit back so I bumped up the review score from 1 to three 3. We are sad to leave CWS Encino but our little one has been wonderfully prepared for elementary and look forward to summer camp next year. There are not enough words of gratitude to began - thank you to Miss Arosha, Miss Debbie, and Miss Vivian. CWS was our third, final, and best preschool experience and our family is forever grateful. We started at Discovery and quite frankly was a terrible decision. After a friend recommended CWS, we were warmly greeted by Miss Pat in the front office. My 8 month old daughter has been going to daycare at this facility for about 4 months now. Being a first time mom, I was extremely nervous about leaving my baby with complete strangers, but her teachers (Ms Lindsey and Ms. Lusine) have helped put my fears to rest. They're both very loving, gentle and engaging with the children and although they are small babies, they still do lots of activities and projects with them. My baby is being sent home with completed art projects at least 3 times a week. They recently held an open house for the entire school and my husband and I were completely blown away. Each class had a different theme that was set up like a fun interactive museum for kids to roam through. Their artwork was incorporated along with the creativity of what the teachers put together. There was a dj, and strobe lights, and treats for the parents and children. Every evening when I arrive to pick my baby up, I'm greeted with smiles by other teachers that I don't even know, they always wave and say hi to my baby and open doors if my hands are full. The staff there just seems to really enjoy being there and love the children. There is a swimming pool and they offer swim lessons (at an additional cost) as well as weekend childcare I think once a month. I'm glad that I was fortunate enough to be able to get into this daycare, I plan to stick with it until she's ready for big kindergarten. read more

I have struggled for a few months before I could decide whether or not to write this review, because I have met some wonderful and very professional people who worked at CWS. On the other side, however, I feel obligated to share my experience as part of the community, and especially as a parent. At the end of the day, I would expect other parents to do the same for the well being of our children. So, initially, my family's experience with CWS was absolutely wonderful. My son was enrolled at about the age of 18 months, and he was placed in the toddler room. His teachers at the time were fairy tale-fantastic. Very caring, attentive, and sweet. The school offered a wide range of activities, both curricular and extra, especially during the warm months (which, in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, sum up to about 75% of the year). I guess I could safely say that everything changed for us once my son reached his second birthday and was therefore placed in the 2 year old room, with two teachers, Miss Desiree and Miss Tika (I believe this is how her name is spelled). In all fairness, the school has a transitional period before the official class transfer, during which the child is exposed to the new class environment for a few hours every day, and after a month the official transfer takes place. My son did very well during the transitional period and seemed to be adjusting very well. I guess all was fine as long as he just spent an hour or two a day in the new class, but everything went South rather quickly once the official change took place. Within just a few days from the day of transfer into the 2 year old room, my son completely stopped eating. In fact, he was even refusing to drink water. In addition, almost over night, he started displaying very aggressive behavior, he became afraid of sleeping at night alone, and he became absolutely defiant and would refuse to cooperate with anything that was asked of him; in particular, he was extremely opposed to go to school. For an entire week, every morning, he would shout in panic out of his lungs all the way to his school, and once there, would categorically refuse to come out of the car seat. In addition, once I would pick him up, he would be upset with me and his father for the rest of the day. And again, no eating, nothing. So this went on for about a week to 10 days, and each time I approached the teachers about the subject, their response was a complete deflection unto me and my parenting style, rather than being humble enough to consider the possibility that something was taking place within the school environment. Miss Desiree in particular would answer to me with one liners of this sort: "You don't pack his food right", "You don't make him what he likes", "You need to put the food in a different backpack", and many more, including my favorite: "Come on mom, get a grip!"... Needless to say, each time I was told to do something different, I listened to their guidance because my only interest was to make sure my son was properly taken care of. However, I realized later on, I was not dealing with my son's teacher. I was dealing with her ego, with her inability to look at her professional behavior and accept the mere possibility that even for her, there was room for improvement. ...Because of space limitations, I cannot go on with all the details of my experience, but I will summarize the experience as much as I can. My son was hit by Miss Desiree's daughter, also attending the school, and Miss Desiree scolded my son while saying absolutely nothing to her daughter, she also yanked his paci out of his mouth and decided that he could not have it, in spite of the fact that other children did. My husband witness the accident with M. Desiree's daughter with his own eyes. Once he was crying at the snack table, unconsolable, and another little girl was crying. Miss Tika was handing out snacks, Miss Desiree was consoling the other girl, and nobody could care less about my son convulsing. After many other accidents, we took our son out and three Child specialist confirmed he displayed post traumatic behavior and suggested we remove him immediately. Miss Vivian the director, once we sat and spoke about it, suggested we move him to the other class, which was a very poor solution, given that in the afternoon the classes are joined and at that time Miss Desiree and Mika were also covering the other class because of a shortage of teachers. I decided to write this review because to this day Miss Desiree is working there, and was not held accountable for any of her actions. Unfortunately, again, I have to summarize all that happened because of space limitations, but I must underline that I did not take the decision to remove my son lightly. It came after three children specialists told me I had to. I loved many people who worked at this school. But if you must enroll your child there, I advise you to do all you can to keep him away from Miss Desiree's class. read more

Very deceiving on the outside (looks nice with all the great play area and toys) but new parents beware. I had my infant there for a few months but pulled her out because of poor mangement by the Director and Owner. Infant room was not safe (stair w/no gate to go to the the next level)... mouse traps under the crib area, dirty in my standards.. need I say more? My daughter has been here since she was 4 months old. She now only has one year left for TK and I am feeling very sad and nostalgic. We have had so many wonderful teachers. The other day in the car, my daughter and I were talking about our favorite teachers: Jena, Alyssa, Leslie, Elise, Hector, Jessica, and the list goes on. The current management and staff are FANTASTIC, the facilities and grounds are constantly being cleaned and updated, and the activities offered are enriching. When one has a child (or children), it is not easy to find someone who you trust enough to take care of them for an evening, let alone during an entire day. So when it came time to search for day care for our (now) 6 1/2 year old (5+ years ago), we decided on Child's World School in Encino. To be honest, we actually tried another school in Woodland Hills first (not the WH CWS) and it wasn't a good fit for our son. We kept searching until we came across CWS, where we immediately fell in love. From the Director (Ms Vivian) to each of his teachers, they have all been amazing. Well, I can't say that ALL have been AMAZING as some were just really good. But seriously, we have had nothing but positive experiences with CWS. Things were positive enough that we have also sent our other son to CWS and he loves it just as much. Our older son was highly prepared for Kindergarten and know that our younger will be ready for Kinder soon too. Also, Vivian has been very flexible with any special requests that we have had, from teacher requests, to leaving and coming back, etc. She truly is the best!
