The vibe is very inclusive and welcoming. You will not be intimidated if you are not super toned and in a fancy yoga outfit (though both those things may happen as a result of showing up to yoga class consistently, haha). I had not practiced yoga in many years, but when I saw that this place had opened near me, I signed up for the two-week trial, really enjoyed it, and immediately continued my unlimited membership. I've been able to attend class consistently 3 to 4 times a week because of the numerous time options available, so I definitely feel like I'm getting great value. After a month and a half I am feeling physically stronger, more mentally focused and emotionally more connected to a community. In this WFH era, I can go days without interacting with anybody else in person, which I didn't even realize the detrimental effects of until I started attending these classes and being around others. The classes usually have around 3 to 8 students so it's fairly intimate and the teachers will usually ask if there are any special requests before starting class. Prices are very reasonable, and even more so if you purchase a class package or unlimited pass. Bonus is that you can use those classes at this location or the Venice location (which has an even more extensive class schedule), whatever fits into your schedule. They also host various events beyond just the yoga classes. I recommend you try the two-week unlimited offer because it's an unbeatable price and you get the chance to try different teachers and styles to see what works well for you. If you don't have your own mat you can also rent one for $2 for the session.

Nothing flashy here but plenty of eateries in the area both corporate and small businesses. The studio itself is relatively nice. I can see maybe 30 - 40 people fitting here but it really depends on the event. I like the different DJs they featured and the sound and lights were vibing. The wood floors are nice and I enjoy the decor plant decors here and there. Parking - It's in a plaza that can maybe fit 10 cars, some spots vary with time limits or they're already reserved for other businesses in the plaza. There's also street parking as well. I have attended several of…read moreEmily's classes and always enjoy that I find her flows challenging and her energy warm and calming. Whenever I visit I always notice that the instructors put a lot of effort into fostering relationships with and between their students and I think that's really cool. I see the instructors greeting most of their students by name, checking in after class with their students, excitedly introducing them to each other with thoughtful details. The practice space is bright and open and is fully stocked with immaculate Manduka mats, blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets available for use during classes and of course there are paper towels and mat cleaner on hand for you when you're done. There are also lockers outside the practice space with locks available for free so you can feel secure leaving you shoes, phone and whatever else outside the room while you practice. Aside from their yoga classes I went to one of Hyperslow's other events for the first time recently, the Full Moon Ceremony they had at the beginning of March led by Asher. It was unlike any thing else I had experienced! The breath-work was intense as was the sound experience created by the four Hyperslow instructors venturing in and out of the corners of the room between singing bowls and gongs. The energy in the room was electric, and I walked out feeling refreshed and renewed. I cannot recommend highly enough that you check Hyperslow out as soon as you are able. The founders, Asher and Emily, are two of the nicest people you could meet. They've assembled a group of skilled, caring instructors and fostered a beautiful community of yogis. Go take a class!

The mindfulness that is seamlessly weaved into each asana, and the meditation that is honored at the beginning and end of each practice is nothing short of magic. The staff are incredible - I called because I was worried I'd be late to class looking for parking and they were very calm and reassuring in letting me know there was a lot in the back. The space is very secure, behind a gate with a buzz-in. Once you go up the stairs, the space is drenched in calming hues and smells of incense. The walls have many stimulating pieces of art, history, or resources to look at. They have a fridge with tea. The yoga class itself is a sanctuary from the city. The yoga space is minimal, yet it's very comfortable to relax and practice yoga. They have a very secure locker room to keep devices away as well as a meditation room on the side.

I am amazed at the growth and structure Walkgood has taken on with their physical location! From yoga, to high intensity classes, meditation classes, running groups, walking groups, etc., the yard really has it all! For example, at yesterday's run, I got electrolyte supplements, granola bars, and workout bands! There are so many perks! My favorite element is the community! I've been in LA for 10 years, and I've had my fair share of memberships with hot yoga studios, wellness centers, etc., but none have nurtured and fostered community in the way that Walkgood has. I started with 9 foundation classes before enrolling in the more advanced classes - which really helped me improve my form & learn the moves. Which as a semi slender couch potato with a previous car injury I truly appreciate this outlook. Overall, I've noticed my body has improved & so have my stress levels. About the studio itself: everything is new & well maintained. I appreciate the commitment to non toxic hand sani & cleaning products. The location is perfectly nestled in the Culver Art District & it is nice area to walk around after class. You barely hear the outside traffic (if there is any). It is a peaceful atmosphere. Parking is easy to find on the streets. There's a few bus stops not too far away as well.
