My children loved the classrooms they were in, teachers lead them to work independently and gave them the love of learning. I hardly recommend the school, if you are looking for an environment that respects the children and helps them to become wonderful students.

Many…read morepeople have told me that schools in the Mainland are nothing like Hawaii, and I'm sure that is true, but still, I wanted to send my daughter to a private school. We looked and looked and looked. There were many schools that looked good, but their class sizes were so big with only one teacher I was concerned my daughter would get lost in the crowd and would not be able to get what she needs in education. I came across Brownell Talbot in my research and remembered that a few of my classmates from Creighton went there and they were super well rounded individuals, so, I made my husband take us to the open house :) At the school, we found out that their class sizes in the elementary were usually around 10-18 students with two teachers per class. They have a well rounded curriculum where they have everything like math, art, history, but they also learn French, and for PE they learn swimming! That's way more than I ever had in Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten! Well, I finally ended up convincing my husband that we needed to send our daughter here! All the teachers she has had so far were amazing! They are so friendly and caring and definitely know how to teach young children. My daughter always comes home telling us all of the new things she has learned at this school! We love Brownell Talbot and as long as we live in the Omaha area, our daughter will go here.

We are a bit on the over protective side, and we have a hard time trusting strangers with our kid, but the people at this location do not feel like strangers at all. The director at this location really has her act together. All the teachers are really nice and knowledgeable. They are always learning about something new in fun, age appropriate ways. There is always something fun going on. Our daughter LOVES going to "school" as she calls it. She has made tons of friends there. We have since added on Phonics to the cost of her tuition and she loves that, too. They made popsicles one day. They had a cute little Halloween party (no costumes though). They are going to have pajama day, crazy hair day, and a bunch of other fun things like that. They studied the science of dirt. One of the classrooms was growing some kind of plants. Every week has a new theme for what they study. Themes include things like dinosaurs, occupations, etc. They did a cute little recital in the winter and sang a snowflake song. We had a parent teacher conference where her teacher showed us all the things she has learned so far, what she is proficient with, what she is a little behind in, etc. Any time we have any concerns we can just pop in and talk to her teacher about it so we're all on the same page. It's been really great. We are glad we found this daycare. Our daughter loves it so much, that when she is too sick to go she stays home and plays "school." I feel good knowing that she is having a great time AND learning so much. I really feel like this is helping prepare her for real school. I feel like she is in a safe place, being cared for by very capable people who genuinely care. My only complaint so far is that the only actual credit cards they take are Discover, which is just weird. So I have to pay with my debit card. But at least they send me a handy email reminder every week saying my payment is due, with the link to go online and pay it. It's very convenient to pay online.

Jennifer Borelli is such a kind and creative teacher with her students. She has a focus on learning through the arts, which allows students to express themselves in a number of creative outlets. My children have come home with such beautiful projects! I would have to say that my favorite part of my kids' experiences have been the art openings that are held twice a year. We have a potluck which feels like one big family, and we get to see all of the art our little learners have produced. Another favorite is the field trip to Benson High where the kids get to team up with a high school pottery student to create their own works of art. Though she is focused on learning through art, the kids are still provided with plenty of opportunity to burn off energy through activities in the gymnasium. My kids have come home singing favorite songs and talking about the stories they read. The class sizes are small and diverse, which was wonderful for my kids as this was their first experience with care outside of our home. Our family feel so fortunate to have found A is for Art.
