From the very beginning, I clearly communicated my religious decision not to vaccinate my child and was told this would be accepted with a proper exemption. I followed all instructions and provided the required documentation. At no point was I told this would become an issue. At my child's 4-month appointment, I arrived on time and was immediately told I "did not have an appointment," despite having confirmation from this office. While I searched for proof, I overheard a staff member go to the back and tell the doctor that I was "trying to be seen without an appointment," which was completely false. This was said in a dismissive and disrespectful tone. After I provided proof, no one apologized or took accountability. When Dr. Tristan J. Van Voorhis entered the room, there was no greeting, no professionalism, and no attempt to address what had just occurred. Instead, I was told my child could not be seen due to insurance issues that were not accurate. After I corrected that, I was then given a completely different reason--that their "policy had changed" and my child would no longer be seen due to vaccination status, despite prior approval and documentation already being on file. We were then left sitting in the exam room for over an hour with no communication, no follow-up, and no resolution. No one returned. As a Black mother in a predominantly white practice, the tone, treatment, and assumptions made throughout this entire experience felt dismissive, disrespectful, and deeply uncomfortable. The way I was spoken about, ignored, and ultimately denied care after previously being accepted raises serious concerns about bias and discriminatory treatment. This was not just poor customer service--this was a complete failure of professionalism, communication, and basic human respect. I will not be returning, and I strongly urge other families--especially families of color--to proceed with caution when considering this practice.

Since the practice has been brought out, the new staff is not as friendly or helpful as they were before. You can't call in and speak to someone you can't call in and get your prescription, everything is online and for grandmother sometimes these things are difficult. I would need to speak to someone. The young lady I spoke to the day was not very nice or friendly and kept me on hold for 20 minutes. It was not appreciated. There are some good doctors there still but the service is not the same.

Nobody was in the waiting room when I arrived, which was good since a doctor's office is always full. Ensure you complete the check-in they text you before you arrive, because they will not even check you in. It was all relatively easy and fast. The nurse came, did the triage, and then the doctor came in to assess. They discarded the things that were not wrong, but again, they did not tell me what was wrong. I think it's not bad for an emergency, but if it's something that you could go to the doctor to better diagnose, I would go.

I refuse to force food or encourage any kind of body shame. My child eats well, and is naturally petite, as is my whole family. She is a vegetarian doctor and fully understands my decision to raise Rowan vegan, which is an absolute blessing. How I lucked out and managed to find a vegetarian doctor I will never know. Appointments are always quick, we never wait around more than a few minutes, and for things like a bad rash, they will allow you to email in a picture instead of making you come in. She was able to diagnose a rash and suggest an OTC medicine to make it clear up quickly. The location is in a quiet neighborhood, parking is aplenty, the office is clean and new, and I couldn't be happier to be a client.

I have two overwhelming concerns: 1) I and/or my insurance company have paid through the nose for medical care for the past 8 years; and 2) who uses CDs anymore-- new computers don't come with a CD drive! What century are you in? Everything is cloud-based now and precisely why I should be able to access my records via the portal. As an example, I can access my Emory and Mayo Clinic records today (some are over 2 decades old and others over a decade old). This is a terrible business practice and nothing but a MONEY MAKER for this practice. I'm hugely disappointed in this nonsensical practice. And, I would also be concerned about a medical office SNAIL MAILING private, medical records. Isn't this a HIPAA privacy concern?

In January 2025 I made an appointment for the earliest new patient appointment, which was in June 2025. I decided to wait for the appointment because I really appreciated the philosophy found on the website and definitely liked the glowing reviews. I had positive interactions with all staff I encountered and the clinic was clean and bright. The provider I met with suspected a new problem/diagnosis and so started a work up with labs and imaging. Clinic staff did follow up with me once labs resulted out and referred me to a specialist. The ordered imaging was performed ~2 weeks after my new patient appt but I never received follow up, from the NP or anyone else at Ponce Primary Care re: the imaging results. It has now been ~3 months since my last communication, specific to my care, with anyone in this office. I decided to reach out to discuss the standard of care, which I felt to be lacking. Dr. Chad Costley did return my call within an hour or so and he did verbalize disappointment with my situation. He assured me that my experience is unfortunately the exception to their typical patient experience. I was informed that the NP I had been assigned to was "only part-time and here less than a month". I did not ever receive any communication from Ponce Primary Care to notify me that my assigned provider was departing or to invite me to call to schedule with another provider for seamless continuity of care. I was told that my imaging results were never sent by the imaging facility I went to and that "this is where the wheels came off". That is absolutely possible but it was also not confirmed to be true at the time of the statement. The report not being in the patient chart does not mean it was never received by the ordering office or sent to the ordering provider. Sometimes things get scanned and assigned incorrectly, or not scanned at all. Lots of possibilities there. To me, that shows a lack of accountability for not holding a supervisory review of a departing provider's caseload/EMR task list and it also fails to consider that an out-of-state fax number associated with the ordering provider could be the problem. I waited 6 months for a new patient appointment and, whatever the circumstances, was lost in the shuffle. I will not be continuing with this practice, although I'm sure they have many satisfied patients as evidenced by their overall rating. My advice if you wish to establish/continue care here: Be able to advocate for yourself and for your own healthcare. Be knowledgeable about when to follow up on your care in case the practice doesn't. If the wait is still 6 months out for a new patient appointment when you try to schedule, do not think an extra special or VIP experience awaits you - realize that they just might be too busy to accept new patients.

They never make you wait in the waiting room with older kids -- when you arrive with your baby, they take you right through to the newborns-specific exam room. I think every parent has a right to be informed and ask questions. To dismiss it and tell a concerned parent to go elsewhere is completely unacceptable. Their business is already slim and instead of helping me understand their practices, they opted to send me away.
