The accountability from more people being present and the webcams make this more attractive than babysitters and the cost is comparable, so why not?! I heard about Spontaneity from a neighbor and I was immediately intrigued. We moved to Edmond a few months ago and I love it, but I miss my network of kid watchers and my mother in law! So, a drop in kids center sounded amazing. There are three steps to get in: 1. Take a tour. 2. Schedule an interview/meeting (review their policies with them). (2a. Sign up for webcam service--not required, but a benefit) 3. Drop your kid off. We visited for the tour and we were pleasantly surprised that our child was invited to play while we talked. We came at a busy time (Saturday evening) so we really got to see the place in action. The front door is locked and the gal at the desk has to let folks in (we gave a code we'd like for the door, so not sure how that works as everyone got buzzed in). The lobby area has a place to leave shoes and coats and there are special socks they like the kids to wear to avoid losing socks and for hygiene. We came back a week later to interview and our kiddo got to play then. This is great for those kids that haven't done school or been away from parents much to see how they do in a care setting. A few days later we dropped our kids off (five months and almost 4 years). I loved being able to watch them if I got that "I wonder how they're doing" feeling and being able to SEE everything. Also, they round time to the minute, so if you think you'll be 3 hours, but actually are 2.5, you'll get charged for two full hours plus a half--not three.

From Cassandra's review mentioning webcams, to Steffanie's review detailing the…read moretotal cost, I felt like I had enough information to get our little girl registered a few months ago when the woman who had been watching her on Mondays and Fridays went back to work. I knew this wouldn't cover everything, but I knew it would help to have an option. I now have someone helping us at home those two days, but she needed today off, and I desperately still needed to work. Our Mothers Day Out is also over at 2:30, so I can imagine some days when I will need to get her from there and bring her by here so I can get more of a full work day in when JJ's grandmothers are not available. The registration process is reassuringly lengthy - they are not even playing with this! They ask for a lot of important info and require current immunization charts (huzzzah!). It took them a few days to approve our application, but once you're pre-approved, you can bring your kiddo anytime. They charge a once a year fee of $70 per family and then $10 an hour for one kid. The price goes down to $15 per hour for two kids, and so on. Not too shabby, and the registration fee will quickly pay for itself if we use this much at all. She had an awesome day. She was happy to see me, but didn't really want to leave, and I think that is perfect. She lingered for a long time on the front patio smelling the flowers and then tried to get back in. We haven't activated the webcams but we will, not so much to check up on them but just to see how much fun she must be having. They supply snacks and lunch for a $4 charge per snack/lunch. Honestly, on a day like today, it was so worth it to not have to worry about what I would pack for her lunch. There is a 6-hour, DHS-mandated maximum, and you are heavily penalized for going over, so this really is a "Drop In" and not an all day thing. Today I needed to pick up our daughter by 3:50 to beat the 6 hour mark, and I got there at 3:30. But, she played so hard, she fell asleep about 5 minutes into the car ride and didn't even wake up when I got her out of her seat, so I'm back at my desk and back at work with a napping baby! Five stars plus plus!

The YMCA has been associated with such fun homosexual acitivity for the longest time, long before the Village People got involved, and so Gaylord is a perfect name for this lovely facility in the heart of OKC. This YMCA was really nice. The bikes were pretty good but not the best kind. They only have two of them but it worked well for me, as the facility is super quiet. They only allow you to have one towel per person, which is sort of like only allowing one tampon per period. I think. Maybe. Still, better than having no towels at all. The weights equipment works really well. They have a big cross chest cable thing which I really appreciate. Not very many people use the facility as I said, which is probably for the best since it's pretty small. Same could be said about your ex boyfriend. However they do manage to pack all the equipment in quite well. Same could not be said about your ex boyfriend. The showers work really nicely. And you know what else works nicely, in the showers. The locker room is in good condition and I have no complaints. Some of the guys in the locker room were really rude but that can happen anywhere. You know what else can happen anywhere. The facility has a parking lot across the street and even though it's pretty old it works really well and I liked it. But people at the front desk were friendly. Somewhat. I'm torn between a 4 and 5 star rating for this facility but overall it was a positive experience, so we'll go with 5.

We were told they would "try" and find a replacement within 2 weeks. After 2 weeks they were unsuccessful and stated they needed more time while they "try" to find someone. Unfortunately we can't sit and wait and tell our jobs we can "try" to go to work. Please don't waste your time and money like we did!

The support in this center is lacking, cleanliness and systems to upkeep all of the above remain largely unchanged and doomed to repeat the same mistakes. The staff overheard telling a kid "your teacher won't like you if you keep ---" overheard while we were at pickup. The toys the kids play with are broken and tired. They relied on the tv a lot more than we would like. After some discussions without change, we pulled our LO the next day. I'm writing this review AFTER I had a discussion with the director who said she "talked to her staff about that" and neglected to demonstrate any policy change for the above issues. I wanted to urge them to CHANGE the step/protocol/supports in place so that they can do better for basic safety measures. My hope is that they work on changing the steps and protocols to ensure no child is given something they are allergic to, have safe sleep practices and compassionate redirection of age appropriate toddler behavior. I didn't get very far in convincing them to change and really am worried about the kids that go there and their safety for that matter. I was appalled at the behavior above and shutter at the thought what happens when we are not there. I have so much mom guilt for keeping my LO there at all. Please, parents. Just look elsewhere.
