My oldest son has been attending this full day preschool in Edmonton since he was just over 20 months old; the program runs from 8:45 am to 3 pm. It is rare to find a preschool that does cloth diapers or one that accepts kids under 2; the preschool accepts 19 mo to 5 years old. There is no potty training required for younger children. There is a nap/quiet room for younger children.
The teachers are amazing; one of the teachers take photos and post it to a private Facebook group for parents -- the group gets deleted after the year is done. The curriculum is always evolving; based on children's interests and is play-based learning. The rate is really good: only $35/day with a maximum of two days per week. It is a parent-run cooperative, so you could get a community feel and you get to observe the teachers at work during your duty day. Or if you don't want to do too many duty days, you can volunteer on the board as a board member. The toys are cleaned regularly by parent volunteers.
Whenever we pick up our son, he does not want to leave. Our youngest will be joining the preschool at 19 mo and he already cannot wait to join his brother at such an engaging and fun environment. read more
