I started working here on 4/28/16. I was hired to be a Teacher assistant. During my interview I was convinced that this place was professional. My first couple days was awesome. Everyone seemed so nice. The following week it all changed. I was doing everything but working with children. I was bus monitor/janitor/cook/personal assistant. There was not daily reports I was asked to format some. I worked from 5 am to 4:30 pm because there was no bus monitor. I was asked to prepare meals/clean the kitchen because there was no cook. All but one worker is rotated as a building janitor. I don't mean general classroom sanitation. I mean we are expected to clean the public restrooms, take out garbage cans, mop and sweep the entire 3 story building, constantly dust, run personal errands(usually buying food), and take constant verbal abuse at the same time. While these tasks are being completed, babies are in high chairs and cribs, toddlers and preschoolers spend the most of their day sitting at the table. When I expressed how I felt about these situations I was told to leave for the day on 5/13/16. Over the weekend I was sent a text stating not to come in until 9 am. When I came in I was told to complete lunch and clean the kitchen, next sweep, mop and disinfect bathrooms, then wipe refrigerators and mop kitchen. I was done by 11:15. When I asked what next I was told to leave and come back at 2:30 to work with school agers. By 1:30 pm after sitting nearby for 2 hours I was told I wasn't needed this afternoon. So I went back and retrieved necessary paperwork for me to move on (Yes I quit). First I was told to wait in the hall for 15 minutes. Then I was told there was no copy paper and to wait outside. I have 20 years experience in child care and I never ever been treated this way. Throughout out it all I remained respectful. But it was hard. Thank goodness I was contacted by another place right away. The workers except one are awesome and deserve to be scouted out instead of being treated that way. If you have children there find a better center. This is a awful place. read more
