I would not recommend this school. It is essentially run by a husband-and-wife team, and they do…read morenot seem equipped to operate the school at the level they are trying to expand it. They often appeared biased and misguided, and there was a high rate of staff turnover. I initially thought it would be a suitable school for our family because they are believers; however, there were many red flags from the beginning. As soon as the school opened in 2024, they had plumbing issues and repeatedly delayed the start date--twice--without considering parents' work situations. That same fall, a new teacher called Child Protective Services on us during the second week our children attended, due to profiling. That teacher then quit shortly afterward. We tried to give the school the benefit of the doubt, but additional concerns arose regarding honesty and transparency. Shortly before the school ended its infant class in spring 2025, a parent left a Google review expressing concerns about the head of school, Stephen Nuckols, who had been alone in his office with a toddler. The parent's review was deleted; when she reposted it, the school marked itself as "temporarily closed" to prevent further Google reviews. Stephen also has a track record of lacking transparency, as there is public record of him serving as a superintendent of a Montessori charter school without the appropriate credentials. He again attributed the situation to his military service, stating that he had just returned from deployment and stepped into the role without fully understanding what was required. Ultimately, the school was shut down due to mismanagement. Another incident involved my own family. I reported that a little boy had been verbally bullying and hitting my son. Stephen Nuckols later denied that I provided details and became unexpectedly defensive. During a meeting, he attributed the misunderstanding to hearing issues from his military service, then dismissed my children's account of the incident and created his own version in front of us. He stated that the boy had autism and suggested he was merely "flapping his arms and accidentally slapped" my son in the eye. I became frustrated with his continued dishonesty and his priority to protect himself and his wife rather than address the situation. We also raised concerns about the earlier CPS situation. He insisted that he and his wife had nothing to do with the report and became increasingly defensive. Despite the issues, we decided to let our children finish the semester because they wanted to stay. We explained that, going forward, because of communication difficulties, we would need to document and record all interactions with him. He agreed. However, over the weekend, he and his wife, Shannon Nuckols, abruptly terminated our contract because we questioned their involvement in the CPS case that originated at their school. This felt like another attempt to protect themselves and their business rather than the children. Ultimately, we are relieved our children are no longer enrolled. I realized there are major gaps in their learning methods. Although the school advertises itself as using the Montessori method, the children often repeated tasks without truly understanding the underlying concepts. My daughter had significant gaps in reading, math, and science, and for social studies they used basic Abeka books. There is not enough staff for the elementary grades to ensure children are at the appropriate academic level. While the school promotes a "Montessori" curriculum to give parents the impression of a strong program, beneath the surface it is not a quality educational environment.
