She could not answer any of my questions and simply told me to email them through the website. So I did. My emails were responded to casually, slowly, were not signed so, again, I have no idea who I was corresponding with. Sometimes I would go a week without receiving a response at all, and when I finally did my questions were not even addressed. To me, it showed a lack of organization and care. They were the most proximal and least expensive of the dozen daycare facilities I contacted, which are huge pros, but how can I possibly send my kid to a place that rubbed me wrong every step of the way? UPDATE: Th director of the school emailed me back (nearly 8 months later) apologizing and saying my message "went to the spam folder and got deleted". Since my emails were in direct reply to their own, I don't know how that could have happened except by someone tagging it as spam (perhaps by accident, but either way only reinforces the disorganized impression I have of this place)

However, as of Jan 2022 - the people there :) - director and staff - seem so authentic and sincere ... not only about my son (who needs a little extra help) but about working with me to try and make every day, and the budget work. As KC is a huge corporation, I didn't really expect this level of empathy/care - or for them to give a $h*t for my little situation. So far, I am very happy and will try to hustle the best I can so my son can learn and grow with people, I believe, have his best interest in mind.

It was a bit rough in the beginning because he wasn't used to being watched by anyone other than my husband and myself. Fast forward and now we drop him off, his teacher holds her as out and calls "mi amore!" and he runs to her and we are forgotten. I couldn't ask for anything more than his happiness independent of us. They have the largest indoor play area of any daycare in Minnesota. They use cloth diapers, as do we, so that is a huge plus. They feed him organic foods with lots of fruits and vegetables with water, so he is developing healthy eating habits and he no constipation issues (I'm in healthcare, so I know it matters). The desk is very responsive, quickly answering any emailed questions.

It is not on the level you enter the building, and it is not staffed. If you have a question and cannot speak Spanish, there is no one to ask. 3. The building does not seem secure. There are multiple entry points, and no one is monitoring who is coming and going. 4. Poor communication-they did not return my phone calls regarding medical issues that occurred at the school. 5. Daily reports were not completely filled out, so it was difficult to know what she was eating/not eating. 6. The infants went outside 2x during the 3 months we were enrolled from June-September. 7. The infant & toddler rooms have no natural light. 8. They advertise "wholesome & organic" food, but the majority was processed and high in sugar. 9. My daughter would be starving every time after leaving Tierra. When I inquired if seconds were offered, I was told infants could share their neighboring child's plate if they didn't finish. 10. They dumped unused breast milk without communicating this to parents. 11. The owner refused to inform other parents when there was a communicable disease in the room. (pinkeye) 12. 2 of the 3 teachers in my daughter's room were not warm and friendly. They definitely seemed overwhelmed. 13. The room was not staffed 4:1 in the morning until 9 am. 2 things they did well-the head teacher was fantastic. The artwork we brought home was great.

We had a terrible experience with my son's Huckleberry class and pulled out after 7 weeks. You know those parents with a lot of kids at the mall that have that look of stress yet are gritting through with a forced friendly smile? That was my son's teacher. She seemed totally overwhelmed and unresponsive to my concerns. When I asked for a written report the first week, she shortly replied that they didn't have time because there were too many diapers to change. Really? Did you not plan on changing a lot of diapers in a 2 year old class? Also know that state regulations require daily written reports (also know as of 9/2013 the school is NOT accredited). She also said they provide them occasionally (after speaking to the director we got them every day thereafter). I could go on and on with other red flags, but I'll be short: class size too big (14 for 2 year olds which is ridiculous when you're paying a premium), unresponsive e-mails to the teacher, unwillingness to work through my son's adjustment., walking pneumonia in the second week (in fairness that could happen anywhere). My son was miserable and it was so frustrating as I didn't know why; his teacher had such poor communication and lacked warmness that you would expect from a preschool teacher. My biggest regret is that I didn't withdraw my son earlier as he still remembers his experience 6 months later and says "I don't like my old school." I'm happy to say we're at a different preschool now and my son loves it. His teacher is warm, caring, and patient. It's been a completely different experience. Also know that I know of another parent who withdrew her child due to concerns about his teacher. I also want to add that I have friends who have kids at Berry Patch with different teachers and love it. Their teachers have been wonderful and loving. Thus, it seems that it really depends on which teacher your child gets. Based on their reputation, it seems like the majority of teachers are wonderful. Just beware they have a few bad ones...

A Heartfelt Goodbye and Thank You…read more Today was our son Tony's last day before he starts kindergarten, and we couldn't leave without sharing our gratitude for the incredible team at our local KinderCare center. In light of tragic circumstances that have made it difficult for many to trust, the protection and care that Ms. Caity Lee and her team provided us means that much more. Over the past nearly six years, KinderCare became a part of our lives, and we became a part of theirs. From birthday parties to center events, there was always laughter and genuine care. The team at this location means so much to us, and we will forever be grateful for the friends Tony has made, the teachers who have inspired him, and the amazing education Tony received. We no longer see it as a daycare, but as the true development center it is. There have been so many people who have touched our lives there, and most recently, Ms. Anu was amazing, taking on a group of kids who have been together since their early months. My kiddo learns a lot here and I get updates with conferences. As a family member of someone who did home daycare I am so impressed with this center and can't imagine my kiddo elsewhere.
