We went to the camping site and wanted to book a spot for the night. When we arrived, around 12 PM, we saw that there were several free sports still available so finding somewhere to pitch our tents wouldn't be a problem. We enter the reception only to find the most rude people in Bavaria. Tents are not allowed on the camping because it "destroys the rocky ground".
First of all, I don't see how a tent can destroy more than a two ton caravan.
Second of all, the ground was all grass so no stones and rocks to destroy.
Third, the place was already full of tents, which the apparently allow for one night if you booked for seven nights.
It was clear that it was an age issue, we were four people age 26-30. Also from other reviews, we realized that they are known for age discrimination. The way they treated us was incredibly rude. When we were standing outside discussing our options on where to go instead, one of the owners kept peeking out from the reception and stare at us. When I asked him if I could help him with something, he looked away and acted like nothing, only to go back to staring five seconds later. Ridiculous behavior from a 60+ year old man. Bottom line, there are several camping sites around the Chiemsee - choose another one if you want to be treated with the respect you deserve as a customer. read more
