McDonalds are by far and large all very much of a muchness. However, every single time I venture…read moreanywhere near this place, I end up wasting a good chunk of the afternoon sat in the car going throuh the drive through waiting for the fast food that isn;t really all that fast at all. For example, I spent over twenty minutes there in October sat in a queue there for nearly 15 mins and then another 10 in the little waiting booth waiting for my food to actually show up when it did and I drove off, I discovered that half of it was wrong! argh. A little bonus that most McDonalds don;t have is the large soft play centre that is attached at the back that is free to customers! Give the kids a bit of exercise after all that junk!

Efforts to resolve failed so I went to make a complaint to the management re a lack of governance, policy and control over the use of disabled bays by legitimate disabled drivers. Only for Husband of driver to remonstrate with me in front of staff attempting to threaten and intimidate me that his wife with a non disability condition had a right to park there. Staff took no action to assist or intervene, and when I returned to the issue of making a complaint, was fobbed off with 'ring later' as the manager obviously wasn't willing to engage. They have a duty of care. I then found the wife was served by a non English speaking lady - very non English speaking which defied logic. Food was for eat out and later found it less than satisfactory, the chicken nuggets cold and the chips soggy. I will make a formal complaint. McDonalds by their position have shown themselves institutionally discriminatory against Disabled people and efforts in other directions to promote equality, the quality of service being below that expected. In addition, no recognised means of dealing with, responding to or listening to complaints.

Service can drag a bit in the busier times but that is true of most fast food restaurants. The menu is the same as all the suburban KFC joints (IE. doesn;t stock the KFC breakfast menu that the city franchises do) but has all the deals that are advertised and for a cheap and filling meal, you could do an awful lot worse!

I think this because firstly, you get your food quite quickly and it comes still warm. Secondly, the staff are all very calm and do not rush around like in McDonalds. What I do not like about this fast food restaurant is that the floor can get quite messy and it's horrible when you are having to step on wet chicken greasy papers and straw papers. Finally if it becomes busy the queue ends up outside on the pavement and it can get quite cold and you just get fed up. In conclusion, I think this KFC is very good and that's why I rate it 2 stars out of 5.

This branch is at the entrance to the Castlepoint shopping area so it does get a fair amount of passing trade so whenever I have been there it doesn't have the eerie silence that can happen in some places if eating outside of the primetime! We ordered and recieved our meals, but were really disappointed as we could proably have got more and better food from a roadside cafe. There are lots of choices on the menu, but a lot of them taste the same to me and I find most of the dishes rather greasy. To be fair, the food tastes less salty than other takeaways I have used, and it's always served piping hot in generous quantities. The prices are reasonable, and the food's not bad, but I can't help but feel disappointed whenever I get a meal from here. Not as good as it could be.
