Terrible!! They charged my husband's debit card, somehow. When I called to find out how, since neither of us signed up for this, the agent was hostile and rude and said my husband had been subscribed for over 2 years. I looked back through all of our bank statements for 2.5 years and there was no other charge ever from the Tribune. Then the agent started mocking me personally, mocking my voice, imitating me and saying nasty things to me personally!! WTH???? This is a person who works for a legitimate business??? I got the phone number I called directly from their website and AI confirmed it, so I WAS calling the Tribune. The agent also flat out refused to cancel anything for us, even though I was calling the subscription line that specifically stated it was the extension to call for cancellations. What a crooked company!!! read more

Under no circumstances should you ever give your billing information to Chicago Tribune!! If you do, they will continually increase your monthly payment, fail to deliver your paper and refuse to let you cancel forever. This is the worst scam I have ever encountered. read more

Yea I will never recommend this paper they suck soo I got charged for a subscription I never received a single dam paper to my house. Than I called to cancel and first thing they say is if you can't afford the new pricing. No lady I want to cancel because no one delivered my paper! EVER...... Ridiculous but they want to recharge and charge someone even after they call and complain every single week! read more

They've had some good coverage on the pension stuff. ....but....most of the time it is not well written and can't compare with NYT. BTW Sun-times is WORSE then Trib. But the worst part of the Tribune is their inability to end a relationship. They have called about a million times now and keep calling even though I have been very clear that, due to their telemarketing tactics, I will absolutely never subscribe to their newspaper again. Today, they actually had the gall to tell me it was my fault that they call me all the time because I gave them my phone number. Truly reprehensible. read more

DO NOT subscribe to this paper. It is a scam. They will automatically renew you. This is not evident from the initial subscription. You must call to cancel. Nothing in writing. The employee on the phone told me it's in "fine print". I believe Lisa Madigan should investigate the Tribune for this behavior. read more
