Established now as one of the top clubbing nights in Liverpool, Chibuku started out as merely a way for two Liverpool students to get the kind of night that they wanted to go out on. Started around ten years ago, Chibuku was a perfect antidote to the post-Cream, funky house phaze that had gripped the city and was leading Liverpool down a dane music cul de sac.
Breaks and beats were the order of the day, a far cry from what was on offer elsewhere through the city and the night soon started attracting the type of leftfield DJs rarely associated with the Liverpool scene.
Not only has the night expanded to a permanent residency within The Masque Venue but hosts all nighters at the much bigger Nation nightclub and can be found hosting slots at festivals around Europe, so too has their musical spectrum in keeping with recent trends and tastes. Recent DJs have included Annie Mac, Erol Alkan and Digitalism to ensure an eclectic mix. read more
