As our youngest nears the end of his time at Chibi Chan, we find ourselves reflecting on our time at Chibi, and feeling incredibly grateful for this community that has been such a big part of our family's life for the last five years. It's hard to believe this chapter is coming to a close--it truly feels like just yesterday that we walked through those Caterpillar doors for the first time.
Our journey with Chibi Chan started when our eldest enrolled at the height of the pandemic. Like many parents, we were filled with worry, unsure of what to expect. But Chibi Chan provided not just a safe and structured environment, but also a sense of comfort and stability during an uncertain time. With our children's safety and development at the forefront, we were incredibly fortunate to have a safe place for our child to begin their community socialization and development.
We still remember that first drop-off--our little one crying, unsure of what was happening, and us feeling just as anxious for what was to come in this new environment. But the Chibi Chan team was amazing. They sent updates throughout the day--photos and videos of our child playing, exploring, and adjusting in ways we have never imagined. Seeing those moments gave us the reassurance we needed, and from that day forward, we knew we were in the right place.
There are so many things we've come to love about Chibi Chan. They welcome children as young as two, and during our time with the school there was no additional charge for kids who are still in diapers. This took a major weight off our shoulders and allowed for natural potty-training development in our kids. When our child showed interest in potty training, the teachers were right there alongside us, helping guide the process in a way that felt natural and supportive.
But beyond the policies and curriculum, what truly makes Chibi Chan special is the people. From the teachers to the staff, to the other families, there's a warmth that makes you feel at home. Every morning, we were greeted by friendly faces who knew our names and extended warm welcomes to start out day. Through field trips, volunteering, and everyday interactions, we built connections that have grown (and continued) beyond the preschool walls.
Now, as we are preparing for graduation, we know we'll miss Chibi Chan deeply. The caring teachers, the welcoming community, and the sense of belonging we felt every time we walked in won't easily be replicated elsewhere. For us, Chibi Chan has been more than just a preschool, it's been a second home. Thank you, Chibi Chan, for everything you've done for our children and our family. We'll always be grateful for the memories, the friendships, and the foundation you've provided for our children. read more
