I have only had one reiki session with Rowenna (last week) but definitely feel that I'd like to have more treatments with her. We spoke about the reasons for my wanting to have the treatment and I felt that she really understood where I was coming from. She has a very calming presence and a positive energy. I liked how she suggested things for me to introduce into my lifestyle in order for me to reduce stress and cleanse my body. The treatment itself was just gorgeous! I felt really relaxed and could feel my tensions releasing. Her hands were so warm and I could feel tingling in certain places. There was a point where I had a lot of tension in my stomach and Rowenna sensed this immediately and spent a long time in this area. After the treatment I felt completely cleansed and calm. I had been having head pains the week before and believed this to be the residue of negative thoughts from the ending of an abusive relationship. I told her that I wanted to release my connection to those thoughts and since the treatment the pains have gone! My mother also said my face looked so different: because it was relaxed! I didn't realize I was so tense and after the treatment I was very surprised at how different I felt. read more

Rowenna, the founder of Chi-Works, is a qualified meditation leader with Skillful MIND, with over 20 years of personal experience of using meditation, studying with various Buddhist teachers and centres over the years, as well as being a student of Tai Chi and Qi Gong with the Me Quan Academy. An experienced and outstanding teacher of art & photography for over 9 years, Rowenna has worked in secondary schools and colleges in London and the South East, where she developed a mindfulness programme for young people. She is now a fully qualified teacher of the .b programme, developed by MiSP (Mindfulness in Schools Project), and she is currently studying NLP and Cognitive Hypnotherapy.

Meet the Business Owner: Rowenna S.

Rowenna is the founder of Chi-Works and the Walthamstow Healing Circle. With a natural talent for working with people, she has been drawn to helping others from a young age and when she came across Reiki in 2004, when seeking help from a local therapist for an ongoing anxiety related issue, she knew that she wanted to learn how to work with this amazing form of energy. In 2009, she found her first Reiki teacher, with whom she studied for a level 1 in Usui Reiki. She then went on to complete a level 2 practitioner qualification, and was initiated with a direct lineage to Usui Reiki. She completed a Master/Teacher qualification, with a lineage in Usui and Tibetan Reiki in 2011. Rowenna is also a teacher of art and photography with 9 years experience of teaching in secondary schools and colleges in London and the South East. She is currently studying NLP and Cognitive Hypnotherapy, and is a meditation leader with Skillful Mind.

Having regular reiki sessions with Rowenna has helped me in a number of ways, that I couldnt quite believe!, being new to reiki, I was'nt sure what to expect but was blown away by what I felt from the very first session. there are'nt many holistic treatments you can prove actually are working but this is one that you can and Rowenna has the gift! I immediately felt a sort of magnetism and heat from her hands then the energy concentrating on the places where it was needed most,Rowenna explained how chakra's work and how the reiki energy unblocks and heals these she has a full understanding of these and really opened my eyes to how doing things like Tai Chi can help too. having dealt with some very highly charged emotional situations over the past two years, after each session, I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders and a shift in my ways of thinking, it was helping to shift a 'dark cloud' which I had felt stuck under which has been invaluble to me, I felt amazing after each session, relaxed and ready for a great night sleep and subsequent days had a real bounce in my step, feeling positive about everything around me and able to deal with things that got me down in a much more positive way..I would and do recommend Rowenna, she is certainly 'tuned in' and I cant wait for the next session! read more

Rowenna has a calm positive energy that immediately put me at ease before my treatment. The reiki made me feel very relaxed for the rest of that evening and in the subsequent days. I noticed much of the deeply held tension in my left shoulder seemed to dissipate - it seemed to adjust during the treatment and continue to relax out for several days afterwards. I also found my digestive system seemed to be more balanced and regular following the reiki, and my emotions seemed more in balance. I would have no hesitation in recommending Rowenna, as I benefited greatly from having reiki with her. read more
