Large refrigerated cases faced the street with a variety of fresh fish, shellfish and premade seafood items. In the back the kitchen and food prep were visible and completed restaurant or to go orders were queued at its own counter (though staff would drop off at your table). Prices were quite reasonable comparing them to other restaurants in the more touristy streets. Also the cashier was very friendly with both locals and visitors. My favorite was the razor clams followed by the mussels and fish soup. Each was nicely seasoned and good size/ meaty for the shellfish. A separate bowl was also provided to hold all the empty shells. The WCs were located down a spiral staircase in the rear of the restaurant and was tiny. Overall a great start to my eating in Brussels.

It was cooked nicely and very meaty with a mild flavor. The accompanying sides were not an afterthought since vegetables were tender, seasoned and the fried potato cylinders added a little texture. The paella was also a decent choice with lots of seafood variety but if the rice was wetter than expected and missing the browned crunchy aspect. The entrees were quite filling and we didn't have enough space for dessert. Service was as expected. One item to point out, we caught whiffs of cigarette smoke from the diners outside (via open front windows) which was a bit annoying.

I ordered the 1kg mussels with ham, peppers, Rochtfort Cheese and onion, side of frites and an Orval. The mussels were absolutely fantastic and had more than enough to take home. Price seemed reasonable. Rarely ever give five stars but feel this place deserves it!
