So Im a bus driver for Marin Transit and usually they let me use the bathroom here since i drive all day, but tonight this lady said no, and her excuse was it closes at 10pm. Mind you i asked for the bathroom key at 9:50 which when i always feul my bus before i finish my shift. She even told me to talk to her manager about it and claims that she is always here at night which is a lie, since i do this route 6 days a week. I would just like to know why the change all of a sudden. Thanks.

    Ouch gas prices!

It's a kind of nostalgic novelty snack shop - a sip of a slurpee, a bite of barbecued corn nuts, and I'm transported back to my childhood in the 80s. We came by for National Free Slurpee Day which happens every July 11th - one small slurpee per customer. There were six flavors at the self-serve machine: lemonade, mandarin, cherry, blue raspberry, coke, and Capn Crunch (which actually tastes exactly like it - one sip of my daughter's and I'm craving the cereal, which I never eat). The other reason we ever come here is to get nachos. The machine was broken today, and another time we had to wait for it to get refilled, but there is no better, cheaper place to get your standard processed cheese variety of nachos. Donuts are also a draw. I have a weakness for jelly ones. Basically, if you're looking for a plethora of junk food choices...or a cold drink...and you don't mind paying slightly more for the sake of convenience (assuming it's close), this fits the bill. My experience at this location is that the employees are neither particularly friendly nor rude. I haven't had any issues. I'd be more concerned about the other customers - it attracts a certain element...which once in a while includes me ;)

I rescheduled and I soon had another email telling my appointment was canceled. I called the San Rafael store and after a substantial wait, I got the vaccination line which should be called the "Covid vaccination line." The woman who answered the phone asked how I came to the Covid phone line-she could not answer my tetanus shot appointment questions. So I tried a different tack and rescheduled for the Novato store. I arrived on time to find out that there was no record (on their system) of my Novato appointment, but that one of the two quickly canceled San Rafael appointments had already billed my insurance. Um, but I hadn't received any vaccine at this point. (So one star for the CVS online scheduling system, but I'm not reviewing that right now.) I was asked by Mamood (I am SO sorry if I have your name wrong) who I think is a pharmacist to come back the next day after they fixed this already-billed-your-insurance issue. He explained what had happened and how he was going to fix it. I showed up the next day super reluctant after the mixup. Plus a number of people had told me how much tetanus shots hurt. I remember this from childhood. Yikes. Why did I have to be so careless and cut my hand? Before the vaccination, Mamood was affable and VERY gentle. He joked around a bit to distract me and told me that I wouldn't feel the needle going it. Yeah, right. But HE WAS TELLING THE TRUTH. It was over in a flash and I left feeling very impressed and relieved. So if you need a vaccine of any type, I recommend the Novato CVS pharmacy on Grant Ave and the professional Mamood.

Two other pharmacies in Novato have closed in recent years and it seems like everyone has come here now. Lines are long and if you have any issues at pick up they direct you I er to drop off meaning you cannot get one stop resolution. You have to wait in line again. If they have an issue filling your prescription they won't call to ask you anything. It just won't be there when you arrive at pick up time. The Costco pharmacy and either of the other cvs stores in Novato would be a better choice at this point. I'm hoping to get all of my prescriptions transferred out asap. It would be great if cvs corporate would increase staffing and review customer service protocols with existing staff here.

I have gone there at all odd hours of the day like after midnight, during the afternoon, you name it and it's the consistency I like the most. Who likes to drink old coffee that sat way too long or sometimes it's made too strong or burnt? I don't and I been to all sort of different gas stations to get coffee like Circle K and the consistency is always a big issue. Even McD's fast food coffee is inconsistent depending on when you go. Not here! The coffee they carry is the Farmer Brothers' brand. I like the Colombian and French roast here. They may have carried another brand in the past but this brand is very good and popular. They also offer options on creamer flavors to select from but I generally get mine black without sugar. Nothing but pure coffee to perk me up! Keep in mind that this is a liquor store but they also sell hot food in the morning like sausages, bacon or turkey with eggs on croissant or English muffins. Donuts and pastries are also available and are made in the back all day but not positive. It really get pack with people in the morning. I've even seen truck drivers stopped at the center divider after getting off the ramp from south 101 to come here. You can park at the restaurant just to the right of this market when the lot is packed with cars. The people who works here are friendly and helpful. No problem for Spanish speaking patrons. I may go there soon for a hot cup of coffee after writing this review.

Also. Shell is a Top Tier major fuel brand, and has a reputation for being pricey gas. I was at this Shell/ Loop Market at about 850pm on a Tuesday. The car wash was closed, so I couldn't review that. The food mart was very clean and well organized. It looks like they were doing re-stocking or maybe an inventory count. I was looking for something to eat, and Oh Look! They have hotdogs! $1.99 for 1/4-lb hotdog. So I asked for a hotdog for two reasons: (1) I like their hotdogs, and (2) I wanted to see how he serves it to me. I told the clerk about my weird hotdog experience at the Loop Market in Daly City last week. He didn't know why they served hotdogs like that. The clerk served the hotdogs on buns, on their own paper tray. Very nice, but the buns weren't fresh. The actual hotdog was fresh and juicy, and probably still within it's holding time for best quality. So in general, a good experience at this Shell station. The food mart is equipped with modern dispensers and fresh food tables. Also, lots of packaged foods are available. Note: Posted sign says no pump assistance for disabled persons at this station.

The CVS pharmacy is small, as most in Target are. It's closed 30 min for lunch a day, but I forget what time that is. I think it's like 1 or 1:30, so not a traditional 12pm. Just a heads up! The service is kind. Understandably, they seem a bit slow but I think every pharmacy is short staffed right now? Idk. The CVS Pharmacy is always near the vitamin aisles. I miss the bigger CVS pharmacies that offer flu shots etc. I wouldn't try to get any flu shots or vaccines here, only because it's a long line and most folks are after their medicines and then want to bounce. However, if they have more staff, or promote the space where that can be done, maybe!
