Why is gas here so expensive?! It's almost twice the price of any gas station in AZ and even more than other places in CA. I feel like they are taking advantage of people here. This place is always busy and a madhouse at times. Before heading back on the highway to Los Angeles we filled up a few gallons to make sure we made it home. This review is long overdue!! This gas station has EVERYTHING you need & then some :). In a way it's like a convienience store. It's my rest stop when traveling. The other gas station on the other side of fwy is closed for renovation.. There are parking spaces if you don't need gas. The trucks parked on the unmarked gravel area. Bought some Banana Nut mini muffins for 2.99. Thought about taking off and hit the road, but decided to used the bathroom first. The bathroom is an out-door trailer and it looks new. Not handicapped friendly.. There are about 6 small stalls in the women's bathroom. Toilet seat is clean.. Toilet flushes. Has sinks with running water. Has paper towels. I'm happy. read more

They have a separate trailer- maybe due to Covid and it's wonderful. It's clean, private, full soap dispensers & paper towels. Pit Stop Ludlow Chevron was our pre-Barstow stop when making the trip from CO to CA (passing through NM & AZ). We needed to fill up and hit the restroom before heading back on the road and this place was definitely our savior! The place was pretty busy with vehicle after vehicle pulling up and even a charter bus with a load of tourists made a stop here. As you can imagine, the restrooms were busy and on the nasty side by the time I walked in. No matter, I did my business, washed up, and got outta there. The station itself has your average pickings. Chips, snacks, hot food, beverages, ice, gadgets, and any other random things you wanted to pick up while on a road trip. It's not the cleanest or brightest gas stops out there but it sure can be a life saver. I wouldn't think twice if I needed to fill up :) read more

It's one of the last stops to get gas and pee before you head into a long drive back to the bayarea. The bathrooms are Porta-John's located on the edge of the parking lot. On the drive from the Grand Canyon to Los Angeles and had to stop for a bathroom break and to top off with gas. Was so skeptical about this place. It is literally in the middle of nowhere. Was pleasantly surprised. The outdoor bathroom trailer, not a porta potty was almost "luxurious" considering it is an outdoor trailer. But it was clean, had running water, soap and paper towels! Normally when I'm driving out to the river, I try to stop in Barstow if I need a pit stop. My stop here was out of pure necessity...granted they are a gas station so it met that expectation. A 24-hour Chevron in a mostly ghost town area of route 66? It sure helps if you need some gas, and a large amount of good fountain drinks. There's a restroom and port-a-potties outside. You can get your usual snacks, beer and foods here both hot and cold. No frills, and gas isn't cheap here, but if you're running low on 66.... Also if you book the motel to stay you check in at the Chevron. My fountain drink was delicious and the bathroom was so very welcoming. read more

This is a frequent stop spot when going from Havasu to the high desert or vise versa. This gas station is pretty small, but has what you need: potty, snacks and drinks. If your in the middle of the 40 and want to stop by for a clean restroom that's not crowded, stop by here!. This had no one inside the restrooms or gas station, as the opposing gas station on the other side of the highway was totally crowded. The rest stop earlier on the 40 eastbound was closed and everyone got off at Ludlow gas station for their rest stop. I initially went by the one with the Dairy Queen but after seeing the line of 10+ for the restroom, I bolted to the other one across the freeway. No restrooms and $5 a gallon for gas. Don't get off at this exit. All stations at this stop have no restrooms. Forgot to add that there are portapottys that haven't been services in ages. They have a portable hand washing station outside of them and it burned my hands because the water was so hot. The portapottys had signs on them that said beware of snakes. Mentioned it to a friendly employee in a Chevron shirt who greeted me & this is what he said, "Actually it does but you just have to barely press it so everybody has problems with it..." If you are on the 40 Highway don't stop here. No decent restrooms.. gasoline is $5.00 per gallon. We used to stop here for they did have one restroom inside their store but now a few months ago they put in port-a-potties that are dirty and not kept up. They also have a portable sink out side with water that was so hot it burned my hands when I used it. Not to mention who wants to use a port-a-potty outside in 120 degree heat! We used to stop here and get snacks, drinks etc. for a break on our way to Havasu.
