They have so many good snacks to keep you munching on the road: jerky, candied pecans and nuts, Beaver Chips, soda, slushies, and all kinds of coffee to keep you hydrated and awake. The restrooms are clean and huge, especially the ladies' restroom. No need to wait in a long line! They also have souvenirs and so many other things to browse. The staff are super friendly. Everyone seems so proud and happy to work here, which makes the experience even better. The gas station has tons of pumps, so you won't have to wait long to fill up. Honestly, Buc-ee's is my favorite stop, even when I don't need gas, I'll still stop here. They have everything for everyone. At first sight, it was so overwhelmingly large with three large covered gas pump areas. Upon going inside, it was definitely larger than any truck stop in California. I was told the first area to visit at Buc-ee's are the restrooms. Definitely well kept and much cleaner than any gas stations period that I have ever been to. I definitely did not go there just to check out the bathrooms, but for the many Buc-ee's logo'd souvenirs, snacks and especially barbecue seasonings and sauces. Their hot food area like hot Brisket sandwiches, sausage wrapped in a tortilla on a stick, brisket burritos, candied nuts, a wall of almost every fountain drink available, slushies, and so much more. I had to go through my list of items to pick up as well as items requested by friends and family. It felt like it was my first time at an amusement park or the toy store. I think we were short of two hours trying to make sure we got everything we came for. Just in case I missed anything or didn't get to try a sample of fudge, jerky, nuts, cookies, or whatever else, we had plans to go to San Antonio the following day and there would be a Buc-ee's on the way at New Braunfels. Sure enough, we made a quicker stop in the New Braunfels location just before San Antonio. It was a fun experience and definitely anytime I am passing by a Buc-ee's location, I am going in planned or not planned.

Given their location across the "street" from Buc-ee's, I assumed QT would bring their A-game to this location. Instead, it was pretty average all around. Bathrooms weren't particularly clean, and the overall store was about as clean as tidy as you'd see a Pilot or Love's. I thought the prices actually were a tad higher than Buc-ee's but it probably depends on the item. I am 'over' the Bu-cee's experience and crowds myself, but still, I'd wait the minute or two to turn at the TX-21 light and pay them a visit over this particular QT.

Once inside, you'll find a very impressive coffee bar and extensive cold drink selection such as cold brew teas. Next to the coffee is a fresh assortment of donuts and pastries. You'll find numerous cold doors of cold drinks , an ATM and the ever present weenie rollers, but no iced down trough of beer singles. They have an extensive menu on their fresh kitchen or you can just grab and go with one of their hot items. Lots of candy on display including a large display of jerky. If it's a location policy, I can understand that but to say I cannot do it at any QuikTrip is simply untrue as I'd just left the store not even 5 mins down the road and purchased some. Just wanted to grab tickets on the way into work. She also kept mentioning cash back and I didn't need or want cash back. Overnights are a struggle for NAs, I'm sure but it doesn't excuse customer service.

The cheese, meat, and vegetables are pretty much what you'd expect them to be, and the bread is crispy without being tough and overly crunchy. I can tell the ingredients are fresh, because they offer fresh spinach, which must be replenished regularly. You can have them make a loaded sandwich for about $8. Worth it!

(2.44/gallon with card discount) But at the pump it cost 2.69/gallon CASH for regular unleaded gas. This is not a one-time occurrence - this is how they regularly (falsely) advertise their gas prices every day. Charging an additional 20 cents a gallon is a significant difference. They're counting on people not checking. And they're hurting the neighboring Shell stations by making it look like their gas is much cheaper. Don't fall for it.

You arrive and place your order either at the cashier or using the automated kiosks. We used the kiosks. We ordered their 3 meat plate for $24 which came with 1/2 a bbq chicken, 2 slices of brisket and sausage, and we added a side of ribs (3) a coleslaw and beans: totaling $40 for a lot of food! The food was good, flavorful and served hot. It was a good option near home, fast for the hungry, but I can see ordering to go in order to enjoy it at home! Overall I would go again, but maybe use the takeout option, since their dining room was very blah- it's on the entrance to the HEB so no frills. Anyway we had a good meal and out we went... Enjoy!

I walked in to get water and found so many healthy options that I was in love. I always get nervous visiting new places because I'm so picky with food. My digestive tract will be super happy with the fruits and nuts I bought to survive in the hotel. I'm so glad that I found this new Mecca of healthy hope near the hotel.
