I was browsing online looking at various different gyms and I came across Grove Wellbeing Centre. I was intrigued as I had driven past this 'council style' leisure centre before and never given it much of a thought. But after looking online at their facilities I decided to bite the bullet and join up there and then. The cost for a monthly membership is £26 (no joining fee) but for this monthly amount you get access to the gym, swimming pool, classes and sauna and steam room facilities. I think this is a bargain! I had my first session today and I was really impressed with what the gym had to offer. There were around 15 cross trainers, 15 treadmills, 10 bikes and a few step machines and that's just the cardio area. The free weights section consists of a whole rack of weights from 5kg to 50kg, 2 squat racks, 3 benches for free weights and a few frames for bar bells. The gym was quite for a Saturday, I'm hoping it stays that way. But over all I was really impressed with everything on offer. The whole gym and centre was sparklingly clean and the few staff members I came in to contact with were excellent. All in all a great experience, really looking forward to sorting my life out in this gym!

Having finally closed down the decrepit and rotten building that originally house the Grove Leisure…read moreCentre, as well as putting an end to the ancient library round the corner, the powers that be decided to amalgamate the two and combine them as the Wellbeing Centre. A bit fluffy I know, but what else do you call a facility that has a swimming pool, gym, library, coffee shop, computer facilities, dentists, podiatry and so on and so on. It's got the lot this place, and its spanking new to boot - I just hope it stays that way, because if the previous leisure centre is anything to go by, it could end up a shadow of it's former self. As it is, the pool provides 25metres to swin in, aqua jets, a toddlers area and sauna as well as rooms for other sports and activities. Would recommend it if you live in or are visiting the North Belfast area.

This is a fab little spot to take the kids on a good day…read more It's free to enter and they have a range of animals for the kids to see. They have Shetland ponies, goats, ducks, peppa the pot belly big, chickens and lots of bunnies and Guinea pigs which they can feed carrots to. You can but flowers from here, it is such a beautiful little place when they are all in bloom. We recently went to a birthday party here as they have a cabin you can use.

The hospital is a mixture of old and new buildings set in a beautiful open woodland area . The older buildings have that wonderful solid but austere impression from the Victorian era . There has been a lot of renovation done over recent years to bring these buildings up to safety standards.The new buildings fit in well with the old and clearly give the onlooker the confidence that behind the doors there is equipment and staff fully trained for the specialist care that this hospital has to offer. Although the waiting lists for orthopaedic operation is sadly longer than we want this is not the fault of the specific hospital and staff are understanding of this . The overall care and success rate is good and thanks to the thorough pre assessment examination there are very few problems including risk of infection. It is very reassuring to know that we still have the best health service with specialist areas like that which Musgrave Park Hospital can provide.

The hospital is widely known as being the place you go to for any major orthopaedic surgery. My mum…read moreattended Musgrave for spinal surgery and still attends follow up consultations there. Its a bit of a maze to drive around but there's loads of parking and pick up spaces by the entrance. The hospital is fairly old now and hopefully in the future there will be more development and investment in it. Excellent staff.

Cars are often abandoned on double yellow lines and whilst it does have disabled spaces, I am yet to come across an empty one. The centre is usually always busy and it often takes a couple of weeks to a get a GP appointment, but then it seems everywhere does. The two things that make the greatest difference for me is the nurses station and the baby clinic. My hubby sliced his finger and fearing hours at a&e, we popped over to the nurses station, no appointment, no problem. He was in and out in 10 mins with bandages, ointment and aftercare advice. It was quick, efficient and easy, as it should be! The baby clinic runs on Thursday afternoons, it's also drop in, where after about a 10-15min wait you can see a Health Visitor and you don't even have to be registered there. Now if only they could sort out the parking...

Dealing with nursing staff is always rewarding and they do their very best in adversity but they…read moreare continually underpaid and undermined by a vicious senior management team that routinely deceive, and a political class who have abandoned the service and gaslight electors. It's obvious too just looking around the unit we were in that the deadly cutbacks are incredibly savage. As we left in the lift from level 9 an elderly lady, barely able to stand got in at level 5. She had a small carry case and a walking stick. She was tearful telling us that she had been kept in, prepared for surgery and shortly before she was to be operated on it was pulled as they 'needed a specialist'. Apart from the obvious questions and sheer waste of a scarce valuable resource how could this be allowed to happen to vunerable people but it's a story we hear all too often. She had no idea when she will be called back so she'll have to continue to live in acute pain seemingly until the 12th of never.

The pharmacy to collet perscription is cross the road. A very disabled friendly place with door button open doors and lifts.

However my particular doctor is quite hard…read moreto see as there is generally about a 2-3 week waiting list always and sometimes when you ring up for a prescription to be sent to another chemist they don't often bother to fax it through. When you go to an appointment the waiting times can be 20-30mins generally which isn't great. But i can't fault my doctor - she is great. Waiting room facilities are BORING and depressing and the car parking space is dire. The new receptionist area is nice though - if you can ever get a receptionist to serve or talk to you! lol

I have heard loads of people really giving off about this health centre, but I think for an NHS…read moreservice which is no doubt over stretched and under funded, I think they are doing a good job. I use the surgery both for myself and for my two children and the GPs in my surgery (I think there are three surgeries in total) are welcoming and reassuring. I have never been made to feel like an over anxious mother even when the kids do that annoying kid thing of being really ill at home and then being fit as a fiddle 10 minutes later in the doctor's office. I go for everyday GP appointments, have been to the baby weighing clinics and the asthma clinic. I also got a steroid injection in my knee a few months ago which is classed as a minor op and was treated expertly. Repeat prescriptions are always ready promptly and you can get appointments within a few days, sooner if you feel you need it. All in all, it's fine by me. I love the sign beside the sample deposit box which tells people not to leave samples after 1pm on Friday. Imagine those lying there all weekend - wouldn't like to be opening the doors on Monday morning!!
