At first I felt like I was being watched like a hawk by one of the employees, but I get it. They have some really adorable, quality items. A fellow customer was gloating about these hiking bags to her apparent husband. She was so loud and was blocking a section I wanted to see. I believe I muttered, "Okay, just get it for her already." Lol. Both of my kiddos ended up making purchases here. This would be the perfect place for stocking stuffers (since most of the major non-girly birthdays are over in my family). Very kind owner. I browsed around for a while to see if someone would eventually ask if I needed help, but no one did. There were two white women shopping in the store, and I noticed the employees were actively assisting them. I'm African American, and I was standing nearby browsing on my own. There was also another gentleman who was assisting one of the customers, and at no point did anyone step away for even a moment to acknowledge me or ask if I needed help. I understand employees may be helping other customers, but a simple "Hi, we'll be with you shortly" goes a long way. As a African American customer, being the only person in the store who wasn't acknowledged while white customers were being assisted made me uncomfortable and left me questioning why I was treated differently. I ultimately left without purchasing anything. Customer service and making every customer feel welcome matters, and unfortunately, I did not feel welcomed during my visit.

This shop in Hot Springs, AR, had some cool gifts, but we were never greeted. Never asked if we needed help. Because they had their own birthday money, my daughters are now a bit more frugal with their spending. There were tons of socks with cute designs and phrases.
