I love this place. So spacious and quiet. I love that there's also an outdoor walk and indoor recliners and a fireplace (though I've never seen it on). They open relatively late, too. Ample parking. As my children are getting a bit older, we are frequenting the library more and more. They love the children's floor (second floor) and playing with the toys and picking out books. The children's section is split into little kids, teens, computers and craft room. To take advantage of the crafts / story times you have to frequent the library website and make sure you sign up. Recently I've noticed more night activities for kids, ideal for working parents. Personally I use Libby through the Cherry Hill Public Library for my kindle reading. It's a great way to get free ebooks. read more

The computer lab is now way down in the dungeon where there's zero cell service... so when I log into gmail they have to send a security code to my phone for which I have to leave the computer and walk all the way upstairs to the front door to get a signal to verify the code. WOW! When I grew up in Cherry Hill in the 70s and 80s, this place was like my home away from home. Now that I'm back in the area again and being from a family who is addicted to reading, this place is still like a home away from home. And it's HUGE. My niece often takes workshops here geared towards teens. My mom comes to meetings here for her little cultural groups. We all come to take out books, DVDs, music, etc. Multi levels and tons of space for you to find your sweet spot to hide away in for an hour of peace and quiet. read more

This library is huge and modern, and is stocked with every book I've ever sought. The website gives you access to their entire catalog, and you can reserve or renew books online using your library ID code. A library card also gives you access to downloadable e-books and audiobooks - I often listen to audiobooks on my long runs. I've recently started utilizing the library's collection of movies, since the corner movie store is all but obsolete, and I have, thus far, not been disappointed, as they have had every movie I have gone looking for. Redbox and Netflix instant queue NEVER have what I want, but leave it to the local public library to save the day! The library also celebrates the local arts, and usually has paintings on display from local artists. A few times per year they have book sales, where all books are $1-2. I always stock up on books I've been wanting to read, or just random books that I've never heard of, but catch my eye. Any Cherry Hill resident not utilizing our beautiful library is doing themselves a disservice. I feel very lucky to have access to such a facility a short walk from my home. read more

Great selection of books, services and little nooks for quiet study. Except sometimes the library staff talk non stop in a normal voice which is extremely distracting. After sitting and listening to the front desk talk for 45 minutes straight, we ended up moving to the Reference section. It was blessedly quiet. read more

Came to the Cherry Hill library today to pass some time studying while waiting for my mom to finish up an errand and I have to say that I am very impressed with it having come from the Mt. Laurel Library. The library is spacey and has more than enough space to study and lounge. I am a huge fan of the main reading room's study tables that have readily available outlets and lamps. May end up here occasionally when I need a change of scenery from my traditional study spots. Wifi can be dodgy tho! read more

This library LOOKs great, but looks can be deceiving. First of all, I'm sure you've read the other reviews and already know its good points: the snack bar, the outdoor seating, lots of tables with electric sockets, tons of videos and books, etc., but I have a few gripes about this library. First... it's NOISY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ridiculously noisy. In fact, the librarians are the noisiest people in the place. Everyone in this place is noisy, so don't ever think this is a quiet place to get some work done. You will need to have ear buds and turn your music up all the way in order to drown out all the noise. Second.... it's FREEZING. I was in there today and had to leave because its 56 degrees outside, (October 14th) and they actually have the air conditioner on!!! Not just today, but most of the time, this place is too cold. Definitely makes it hard to concentrate when you are shivering and wearing a coat and hood. And it wasn't just me...quite a few people had on their hoods. That should tell SOMEONE in charge that it's too cold in there. Third....the ladies room smells...bad....all the time. Do they clean it or empty the trash? It just smells unclean. Fourth.... slow/sketchy wifi. For some reason, the signal seems to go in and out. That's no good for me when I'm doing work on my computer that involves using a data system that has to maintain internet connection or it will not save your work. So...even though I love the LOOKS of Cherry Hill Library, it's just not comfortable for serious working and research for the aforementioned reasons. I usually go to Burlington County, Moorestown or Willingboro libraries because they are much more conducive for really digging into your work. read more

Love this library as it provides a place for me to study that gives me large tables and natural light with out charging me any money to do so. Thank you!!! My one hang up is the stuffiness of the librarians at the desk next to the computers. If you ask for help with printing from the computer or about a stapler or any scrap paper they look at you like you are bothering them a great deal. ?? and, their short response reinforces this. I grew up on the old small Cherry Hill Library and remember being so sad to see that one close down, but now I am so appreciative of the upgrade! This library is huge but the parking lot is one of the only downsides. It is kind of small, comparatively, and is always crowded. It's nice that there is a pull-up mailbox drop off for returning books or dvds by the entrance. There are three floors, the main one where you enter has check-out/reception/info, popular books and movies, a small gift shop, a coffee shop, and a "quiet" area that houses the majority of the books. I love the quiet section, there are tables and rooms as well as smaller study cubes (free-wifi throughout the library as well!). Upstairs is the children's section with some fun areas to sit and read. In the basement, there are more study spaces, rooms that can be reserved and local art on display. The library is always hosting events and classes, one of my favorites is when they have yard-sales in the front parking lot. This is pretty much the nicest public library I've ever been to. It's enormous. More like something you'd find on a college campus. Now I know where Cherry Hill taxpayer dollars are going. My little cousin held a film premiere (yes, really) in one of the rooms on the lower level. I think my aunt said it was around $150 to rent and it fit ~100 people. So on a meeting space standpoint, that's not too shabby. read more

This library has it all, especially for the avid studier! There is plentiful seating and outlets. The wifi is fast and my computer just automatically connects to it now when I sit down. The large windows plus lamps on each table allow for very good lighting, which is necessary when putting in the long hours hunched over books! I love that they have a little coffee shop too, which has decent snacks. There is a no food or drink policy at the tables, but I always bring snacks. I am beginning to think my brain won't study without snacks! I have only been reprimanded once, but I have seen plenty of folks sipping on coffee and munching on trail mix with no scolding, so don't let that deter you. Another nice bonus is that there is a little outdoor patio in the back of the library, with access from the coffee place. When your brain feels cluttered its nice to just step outside for some fresh air! read more

From the sculpture on the grounds to the vast reference room to the isles and isles of books to the events and activities offered free to the public --- this library is on par with those in major metropolitan locations. It is beautiful in addition to everything it offers. Did you know the library free yoga every Saturday at 10am? Did you know they offer things like Game of Thrones discussion groups? Did you know they had a food truck festival a few weeks back? Did you know there are so many work spaces where one can work, study, read, expand their knowledge of something new. I love this library! It provides seating indoors and out. There are benches and picnic tables with umbrellas if you're not a fan of sunbathing while reading. A small art gallery made up of local artists can be found in the lowest level of the library. Overall a nice and quiet getaway where you can read or draw. read more

It's a typical library, what can you expect. It used to be new and cool when it was renovated and stuff, but that's a long time ago now. Upkeep seems to have decreased a bit since then. The desks along the walls in the young adult section have obvious remnants of food despite the signs prohibiting food and drink. Because of that, it's a bit gross. I guess they didn't think they'd have to clean so much since there isn't supposed to be food, but it could really use a bit of a vacuum and a wipe down. A lot of the chairs that used to be nice and cushion-y by the tables in the same area have broken bottom supports such that if you sit in them, you kind of sink down. It's like the only thing holding you up is the cloth and foam cushioning. I wouldn't be surprised if someone ends up falling through one day. But it's a public library, what can you expect. It's a quiet place to study. read more

The building is big and modern, but because the architecture is so open, there are no quiet areas to work. The employees at the reference desk are constantly conversing with one another, and the "Reserved for quiet study" tables constantly have people talking at them, and nobody seems to care. The old library had lots of nooks and crannies, and the rows and rows of shelves effectively kept noise to a minimum. If you're using this library to find a book and leave, I suppose it would be fine, but as a place to concentrate and get work done, it's absolutely miserable. read more

As heartbroken as I am that the old, dimly lit library with all of the cool places to hide was knocked down to build this monstrosity, I don't hate it. It is huge and has just about everything you would want in a library. You know... books, quiet rooms, and nice, long tables to spread out all of your bookies as you drown yourself in school work. I sometimes take my daughter to the children's section upstairs but there are never any other toddlers there and the overly quiet atmosphere keeps me on edge. Great for book-lovers but unfortunately for the tots-you can't escape the stuffy atmosphere upstairs. read more

This is a beautiful library with every amenity you can ask for. Even a cafe! They offer so many great programs and events for the community. My favorite is the story time events and Itsy Bitsy activities that they offer for the little ones. I have been bringing my 1 year old there since she was about 4 months old and she enjoys the classes very much. read more

This is hands down the best and apparently most visited library in south Jersey, one that has managed to keep its clientele very happy. Not part of the county system, it is amazing that an independently run township library can be so vast. I am a graduate student at Seton Hall University, and Cherry Hill Library is by far my favorite place to complete my studies. In addition to having an ample size quiet reading room, the staff consistently supplies its patrons with friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable assistance whenever it is needed. Although several other libraries are closer in proximity to where I live, the peace and comfort that Cherry Hill offers is worth the extra mileage. read more

We live in the apartment complex nearby and can walk here. We take our 1.5-year-old over for the Rhyme Time reading hour (well it's a half hour). It's a nice way to have our daughter interact with other kids. The person who left the review about there not being toddlers around must have gone at unlucky times--we usually see other kids upstairs in the kids' section. My recommendation is to call in or check the calendar of events and find the events for the age group of your child. If you go at those times, you'll see other kids there. By the way, if you have a little one, the upstairs room has several nifty, interactive toys, in addition to board books and of course the regular kids books. read more

Beautiful Modern facility, absolutely terrible staff. As an employee of a library how do you not know how to whisper? Gossiping and laughing like a crazy person? Cmon now. Employees sit at the desk and do not answer the phone (which is extremely loud and echoes) but instead continue to scroll on their Facebook. People come in talking on their phone and nobody says a word to them. To make matters worse, the architecture of the building creates an echo so basically it's not a library it's a zoo filled with chaos and kids running around screaming and crying Do yourself a favor, if you're trying to study, just go to the nearest starbucks, it'll probably be quieter. read more
