They had all kinds of foods from Russia and Slavik countries that I haven't seen before. The staff here are genuinely friendly, but there's a little breakdown with the people work in the Deli and the people running the register. I would say this place is an awesome experience, but going here consistently would probably pose as a slight problem for me because there was a lot of confusion with the staff and not because of a language barrier. The Deli used a microwave oven to heat up their food, which I thought was subpar and the Cafe featured a couple young women who didn't seem to know what they were doing. All in all, I would highly recommend checking this place out. It's a little oasis of Russian culture right here in Portland, Oregon. I'm definitely going back again and I've been twice already since first going this month.

Plenty of Culantro, if I was willing to substitute. Their pricing is cheaper than H-Mart and some of the other Asian markets in the area. However, the true value here, which cannot be denied is the $5 Bahn Mi with iced Vietnamese coffee... Were I them, I would probably just run a value Bahn Mi shop, with lines back to Pioneer Station. So far, I've had the sausage /pork patty version and the Dac Biet. The pork patty is far superior to the Ham + Head Cheese version for my taste. It seems that most of the people in the area do NOT include pate on any of their sandwiches... I understand that is traditional, and in Orlando... pretty much ubiquitous. It makes little difference, as the value is excellent. The iced coffee is the star here... I noticed a bit of a mocha flavor when I had it the first time, but put it down to my lack of familiarity with Vietnamese coffee. The second time, I definitely tasted the addition of Hershey's Syrup. You have 6 options to choose from for these services and they are posted in the wall in English, Spanish, and Chinese. Staff speak English, Vietnamese, and Spanish. Fresh fish tank has tilapia & crab. There are various of iced & frozen thawed fish selections. Obviously fresh tank fish and ice thawed would taste much better than frozen ones. They can sprinkle salt on your cleaned fish before deep fried at request and wrap them either parchment paper and aluminum foil for you to pay up front at the cash register. My favorite 3 type of fish out of 5 so far are: branzino, bass, and fresh from the tank tilapia. Depends on wha size of fish, my weekend dinner has been between $13-$32 & 2-3 fishes so 2-3 meals for me within the last 2 weeks. You can't beat this deal anywhere if fried whole fish is your thing! All I need to complete my meals is start my rice cooker & sweet potato in the air fryer before I head to the store to order my fish and dinner is done. A bit of fresh squeezed lime/lemon with fresh grinned salt and pepper or lemon powder is cherry on top for this quick & easy any time.

In this economy I am ALWAYS out looking for bargains to share. The pelmeni are only $4.99 a lb and their wonderful selection of deli meats are probably some of the best around. Mortadella (Doctorsky) bologna or their smoked smoked sausages. We always get the (Moskovsky) one as well. Most Russian delis don't have huge selections of fresh produce but you can count on them having the staples for a Russian/Ukrainian household. I got staples like dill, potatoes, cabbage, beets, buckwheat, teas, manaya kasha, deli meats/cheeses, chocolates, sour cream, farmers cheese, freshly baked bread and kvass here. I get to practice my Russian when I come, and that's when I realize how out of practice I am, that my tongue is no longer cooperative with words that I used to be able to pronounce just fine. But they do speak English and are happy to assist you.
