The look of absolute betrayal and disgust.

I feel bad I don't remember their names but I could not thank the two ladies at the front desk and the doctor enough! I do foster a lot of babies and was looking for a place to neuter and spay my two foster pups. Every where was booked out or extremely pricey. Cherokee happened to call me back with a cancellation and even could do one of the pups dental cleaning too. The cost of both spay/neutering and dental exam was a quarter of the price I was quoted else where! I'm soooo thankful to these guys for taking such good care of my babies. This was the last step to getting them ready for adoption so now they're ready and got clean teeth too!

Yesterday I had to take my buddy of 14 years in to be laid to rest. I wasn't aware of Cherokee veterinary hospital but came across it on yelp after being told by others in Lodi that the earliest I could get in was days away. Cherokee slipped me in within an hour of calling. They were so kind. I'm not an emotional person but this one got me and the folks at this office understood. I really appreciated their kindness. I've found the place I'll be using from now own for my other furry friend.

Thank you, Diane, Marilyn, and all the staff at Cherokee Veterinary Hospital--I was referred to you today from our regular Vet who could not fit us in today. When I called you were able to get us in to euthanize our beloved 14 year old Lab, Miley. You were so very kind and understanding and we could not have had a better experience saying good-bye to our baby girl. Thank you so much for your excellent and compassionate service to us newcomers to your clinic. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone. It shows they care deeply for our fur babies and their humans!! Thank you again!!!

We have been taking our dogs to this clinic for 13 years and thought it was a good time to give a review. The staff and doctors are amazing. The prices are very reasonable. Today I called before hours and left a message I needed to get my dog in as soon as possible as she broke a nail. The office contacted me before the office opened and gave me an appointment. So relieved as the weekend was upon us and Polly needed help. Great place.

I worked with a rescue group to obtain dental surgery for my two small dogs last week. Both were up to date on all vaccines prior to being taken in, and only one dog had any discomfort in her mouth, the other one was fine but was due for her dental work as well so decided to do both dogs at once. The day of surgery I received a call from the rescue stating that surgery was taking longer than expected, no explanation why. I picked up my dogs from the rescue group and brought them home to let them rest/heal and that's when all the problems started. I had no post-op instructions or things to watch for, just a copy of the doctors charts that were nearly impossible to decode. One dog refused to eat ANYTHING. After 3 days I contacted the rescue and was told it was likely just her reaction to the anesthesia. After 5 days of having to liquify food and force feed my dog with a syringe I noticed a huge lump forming on her neck/chest. I immediately called the vet at 1:05pm on Saturday, and their voicemail advised they were closed until Monday. I contacted the rescue group and did not receive anything back. Luckily, I have a friend who is a vet tech that was willing to take a look at her, and advised we take her in immediately to be seen. She developed a huge infected abscess in her neck, and had to have tubes inserted for drainage, multiple antibiotics prescribed, and has to undergo a series of laser treatments. Her official lab work just came back today with a MRSA infection diagnosis. My other dog by day two of healing developed a cough (kennel cough) that she passed to my other puppy in the house. Although the cost of their dental surgeries was GREAT (roughly about $800 total for both) I have now spent over $2500 ADDITIONAL to fix the problems caused by their surgeries. The cost will continue to rise as I finish up the rest of the needed treatments for all 3 dogs now. The rescue did attempt to have Cherokee get in touch with me. Marilyn left me a message stating she didn't know what went wrong and that there was no kennel cough going through their facility and to call her back. I did call back, and was told she was busy and would call me later. I received another voicemail saying we would touch basis the next day, and then never received a follow up call. I am devastated at the quality of care they received and at this point am just praying we can get the infection under control before she dies.

He might be ancient and toothless, but thanks to Cherokee Vet, he's happy and no longer in pain!

This place is literally never taking new patients. Idk if there is a lottery or you have to know someone but whenever I call it's a NO.

We came in at 4:30 pm and were told we would not be seen for at least another 45 minutes, despite the fact we had an appointment. Parking is terrible and we had to park at Walgreens. We only needed a simple Rabies vaccination. We could not wait another 45 minutes ( at least) so we rescheduled the appointment. On Tuesday 7/8/25 , we had another appointment set for 5 pm for a simple rabies vaccine. We arrived before 5 pm, checked in and were told once again it would be another 45 minutes despite the fact that we had an appointment. Their excuse for two weeks in a row was "emergencies". Something is wrong with their appointment system and needs to be analyzed and fixed. We could not wait another 45 minutes and neither could others who said they had been waiting a long time and could wait no longer. We had to walk out because we nor others could not wait any longer. Unfortunately we will be changing Vets to someone who can manage their appointments better.

But the receptionist staff is pretty rude and lacks any customer service mannerisms. Especially the older lady who's been there for years. Everytime I've gone in, I've patiently waited for others before me to be helped first. She always sees me walk in and never acknowledges me or says hi or even a "Be with you in one moment." Which can be confusing because then you don't know if they're working to finish something on the computer first or they really didn't see you walk in. They usually just ignore you until they have a minute to help you. I literally hate having to wait to check in my dog because of them but I like Dr. Chahal.

The vet looked at them momentarily and said it was probably a truth and you have to come back on another day to be to be put under and have x-rays taken in then they would be able to decide if it needed to be a tooth pulled or what it would be. I said OK they gave me an estimate thought about it for a few days after the medication. They gave me that day. He seemed to be a little bit better, but I still made an appointment to take him back for x-rays.. Finally got an appointment which they canceled because there was no vet available that day for some reason, Made another appointment which the vet was not available that day, Tried one more time they made an appointment said they had a vet coming. I I asked you it was they said it was a lady at within 30 years of experience so I made the appointment. Took Auri in at 9:30 for the procedure they called me around four said he was ready to get picked up Went and picked him up and sat in the waiting room for 15 or 20 minutes and nobody acknowledge me Finally, I got up and said what's going on what did you have to do to Auri? Did you pull his tooth? Their answer was we put him under and took x-rays, but the vet didn't know how to read the x-rays. It wasn't qualified to do the extraction! I said you guys gave me an estimate on putting him under so you could do x-rays and take care of the problem all at one time but you had somebody here that couldn't read x-rays and you still put my dog under and I didn't understand Then they wanted to charge me $500 Needless to say, I was not happy. They said they would call me the next day five days later they call me and said I need to bring them back for more x-rays because those weren't good enough and put them down again Needless to say, I will not be back there again. I'm not sure there was even a vet there when they did the first procedure. New vet ever came out and talk to me.! I just can't imagine why that you were scheduled a procedure without having a vet there they could solve the issue when he was down

I was in complete shock and that experience has haunted me for years. but they are the only ones that are open during times other hospitals aren't and even then there is no doctor available. the receptionist should all be fired . The way they talk to you will leave you in more distress. It's sad actually that nothing has been done about aloe if people's concern. even in reviews they try to hide and dismiss your review if it makes them look bad. I suggest be prepared. cause most times with an onsite doctor not available u 'em will have no choice but to go find an open vet elsewhere wich is usually out of town. At least know that you have a place as an alternative. it will save you precious time so you don't have to look through your phone trying to find another option whole your pet is dying , injured, or very ill. Remember you are going to a doctor that once said iITS JUST A BEARDED DRAGON. and staff that are perfectly okay of their unacceptable behavior towards those that are desperate to care and save thumper animals. they are all definitely in the wrong field for the wrong reasons. I haven't met or dealt with any staff that don't have a terrible attitude but I'm sure they're are exceptions but I haven't met one or spoke to one personally yet. I care about your animals even though I don't know you guys. This message is not meant to be defaming. but sometimes it's just the truth. And sometimes the truth is ugly. take care.
