The website did not make that clear. Lucky enough, the young lady gave me a sticker, normally given to members for validation parking. She told me I was not the only one who had done the same. Besides that, such a wonderful experience! I love the crisp white and architectural look of there building. The courtyard had cute seating. The entry was very open and spacious. They do offer a coat check, had a cute little café style area off to the side, and there gift shop was everything! Get a taste of some nice art pieces in there lobby. Each staff member that I came in contact with, from the beginning to the end was so nice and helpful. And there's nothing greater than a clean restroom...WIN! I had the opportunity to catch the Viktor & Rolf exhibit. I'm a fashion lover girlie and this was, such a joy of a time for me! I did get turned around a little trying to locate the exhibit... but when I did, the elevator doors opened and boom... the art in fashion slapped me in my face(lol). They did a awesome job and recommend, if it returns or has a showing in another city go see it.

Getting the tickets was a pain because they don't take checks so it makes it very difficult for schools, but once we got that settled, the exhibit was great. Mr. Ray, the tour director at site, was amazing (as were all his team). He was a pro with our students and our needs. He addressed some other loud patrons for me when they caused some drama...handles three large groups at one time, really went the extra mile for us. I was extremely pleased as my kids really enjoyed it. I have been before and value them adding a Japanese room, and they upped the cafe game as well. We will continue to visit these exhibitions if Fever continues to support great local workers and great content. Well done.

I went at about 3pm on a Saturday, and the line to get in wasn't long at all. There was an option to choose Titanic or Van Gogh, regular ticket($40) or VIP($60). It started with a timeline of his life, and some of his most famous paintings. There were 2 different large rooms with the paintings from his Japan trips and flower series projected everywhere around the room. I'd bring a jacket because it was really cold in few places. You can take as long as you want, but it really doesn't take much time to get through the entire thing. Maybe 40 minutes if you're reading everything. We got the VR experience added for $5, and that was cute, but nothing to really write home about. At the gift shop, I got a sunflower tea set ($30) & the large can of blooming tea ($19.99). Those were my favorite part. Then as we exited, we were able to draw a picture and have it animated on a projector for a while.

CHIEF WHITE PATH'S CABIN FIASCO!…read more The was to be the icing on the cake, the site that I was most interested to see while in Gainsville, but thanks to Brenau University, my experience was ruined. First let me give you a bit of history regarding this cabin: This cabin (built in 1780 near Ellijay), belonged to Cherokee Indian Chief White Path. He fought, (unsuccessfully) to prevent the takeover of land from the Cherokee and was a leader on the "Trail of Tears". In the land lottery of 1832 the cabin and the land it was on was awarded to the Pinson family who were white settlers. In 1995 under the direction of Counte Cooley, a descendent of White Path, the cabin was moved to it's current location, which is on the edge of a parking lot and flanked by a brick monstrosity of a museum. What were they thinking??? This is a hot mess and if I used expletives, I would insert one here because it would so reflect how I feel. This historical cabin deserves to be in a natural setting, for goodness sakes! IT'S A CABIN!!!! As it stands, the cabin is attached to the Northeast Georgia History Center which is a part of Brenau University. You can't access the cabin without going through the history center. When I realized this, I wanted to scream. I should have realized that something was amiss when I noticed the address: 403 Brenau. MMMMHMM! This cabin in not at all what I expected and since it was hidden behind a fence and trees, I was not confident that it would provide the historical experience I expected. Therefore, my husband and I chose not to take the tour.

They do a nice introduction before you go into the museum and play a movie to warm you up wich I found touching and a great way to welcome you into the Coca Cola world! There is a cool sniff exhibit where you test your sense of smell and another where you write letters to coke! The gift shop is overflowing with all sorts of things to bring home to remember your time! Photos there are expensive. Is this a must do in Atlanta? Sort of. It's a shrine to unchecked capitalism and leans into imperialism (the net effects of Coca-Cola throughout the world are... not great. The literal world). The propaganda that makes up 50-70% of the museum is Orwellian in its hypnotic suggestive effect. I know this. I know all of this. My left-wing principles cried out to experience what I claim to despise. But. BUT. BUT!!! All that goes out the window when you're faced with all-you-can-drink Coca-Cola products from around the world. Maybe those initial addictive* ingredients are still a part of the secret recipe. Maybe there's something about the smell/sound/sight/fizz/taste that lights up ones lizard brain and won't be satisfied with anything other than a distended belly full of sugary corn syrup. Perhaps nostalgia can override cognition. Who knows. All I know is that when I got to the end of the tour and saw station after station of brown, black, red, purple, blue (!) liquid and knew that the only limit to my gluttony was the capacity of my human body... something... broke? I had to try them all. Pokemon had nothing on me. And a taste wouldn't do. Not even if I didn't care for it... not even if I had had it before (somehow, somewhere)... I needed a cup. A full cup. Berries. Apples. Ginger. Florals. Appertifs. Genuinely horrible tasting stuff. I.Had.It.All. and I wanted -- no -- I demanded more. (Point of order: I can fully attest to the bad decisions I made (I regret nothing) but I'm a grown-a$$ man. To the parents bringing your kids in here to run around, get hopped up on God knows what and begin a descent into altered brain patterns that will show themselves more clearly in the years to come... shame on you. What are you thinking? There needs to be a test prior to parenthood.) Long story/review short: 'Taste It' will change your life and become the only leg you'll need to stand on. Man, I'm thirsty. They tell you that you can touch the dinosaurs that you can reach without crossing the ropes. There's a big sandbox to "dig up" dinosaur bones with paintbrushes. I really didn't expect my teenager to enjoy himself, but he had fun too! That pleasantly surprised me. I think we all learned a few new things about where certain dinosaurs lived, and some dinosaur names we hadn't heard of before. The ONLY reason it's not getting a full 5 stars is because of a couple of reasons - 1 - A couple of the dinos could use maintenance. One of them has long claws that are a little broken. (You can see the inner structure poking out.) The small T-Rex looks like his eyes are having issues opening back up after it "blinks." 2 - The only staff member that wasn't very friendly was the cashier at the souvenir shop. He seemed like he really didn't enjoy his job. It's not the most fun position to have there, I'm sure, but it does have an effect on the full experience for customers. Definitely a place to check out for anyone that has kids that have any interest in dinosaurs.
