Meridian RV

We were on vacation. Our 5th wheel had a spring break on the suspension. Meridian assessed it and…read morestarted working on it that same day. They worked on it before the other RV's that were already there. All 4 Springs needed to be replaced. They only had 3 in stock. They got the additional spring in the next morning. We got there at 8:30 and we were done by 10:30. It saved our vacation. Meridian Rocks!

I brought my Tiger RV in to your establishment; which is ADVERTISED as the largest RV service…read morecenter in western Canada, to have my AGM batteries checked. Before making an appointment I inquired of Doug (your service manager) whether you could test AGM batteries and furthermore, whether or not they had a battery lift as my 4 AGM batteries are located under the vehicle and obviously quite heavy. Doug told me that you did have the lift and could test the AGM batteries. During the service, I noted that there was no battery lift utilized and instead 2 hand jacks were utilized and jerry-rigged with (2) 2X4s balanced on each lift plate...what the heck?!?!? The techs then indicated that all 4 batteries were ''bad" and I was strongly encouraged to have them replaced with Interstate batteries that Meridian stocked. Since 2 of the batteries were just over 12 months old, I called Lifeline (battery manufacturer) to see if they were under warrantee /prorated. The tech at Lifeline requested the readings from the tester and I reported that their tech's told me 7.8 each for the newer batteries; which were "tested" individually and not in series. The Lifeline tech then spoke with their tech to confirm this. After confirming the results of the 'test' Lifeline then requested to hand the phone back to me. He then told me that it was impossible for the batteries to have readings of 7.8 as the maximum range is between 6.0-6.5. Needless to say, neither of us trusted the battery 'test' that was done. I then instructed the tech's to throw the (2) 2016 batteries away and rehook the newer 2018 batteries up. So the total amount of work done was to 'test' the batteries, clean the terminals on the two newer batteries, and I was told that they replaced the ground wires also (not done as they never even hooked the batteries back up). I was beyond shocked to see the bill of $856.77 for this service and was told that there were two men working on this (6 hrs. each) and that they only charged me for 1 man. Since they had my vehicle hostage, I had to pay the bill and I then got out of there as soon as possible to catch the ferry to Vancouver Island to visit family. There, I hooked up to shore power in order to give the batteries time to charge and was hooked up for 2 solid days. When I then unhooked to continue on my travels, there was no power in the coach AT ALL; therefore I had to hook up to shore power the next 2 nights on my way to Portland and the Lifeline distributor. I bought 2 new batteries and made an appointment with the Airstream dealership to have the new batteries installed. To my shock and disgust, it was found that the Meridian techs never properly reconnected the batteries to the coach and the negative leads were just dangling!!!! BTW, Airstream took 1 man, 1 hr. to lower the batteries and install the new batteries and furthermore, the 2018 batteries tested 'normal'. I furthermore had them check the whole coach electrical system for any other potential issues...there were none. The work done by Meridian was shoddy and downright dangerous and put my coach as risk for frozen pipes as well as a health risk to us and our pets. We boondock with this RV 98% of the time and had to pay camping fees for 2 nights which otherwise would not have been incurred. I then paid 2 other service providers in the states to fix the problems that Meridian caused. One to hook up the batteries (albeit, also install 2 new batteries) and one to rehook the cable from the batteries to the generator which the techs gave me back and did not know what it far for...again WTF!!??? Clearly, the techs did not have the knowledge nor the tools to either test my batteries nor safely and efficiently lower/lift them, despite Doug's assurances. The fees were beyond excessive and downright usurious. They have denied my request for a refund my monies as well as covering the campground costs for the 2 nights ($70US total). DO NOT USE THESE GUYS FELLOW RV'ERS; THEY ARE UNSCRUPUTIOUS TO SAY THE LEAST!!
