Whilst perusing the cold and flu options, a nice chap offered me "something stronger" from behind the counter. I ended up with Pharmacy Choice Cold & Flu Day/Night Tablets (classed as "pharmacist only medicine" presumably for their codeine and pseudoephedrine content) and they definitely provided some temporary relief (so much so, I went back and got more when I exhausted the first set). I came back to Bondi Pharmacy twice more for tissues, tampons, hair elastics, cough drops and additional medicine. This small shop isn't anything particularly special but they had everything I was looking for whilst fighting a cold during my stay in Sydney.

Arkles is a small pharmacy but it carries a small selection of toiletries, beauty products as well as all the usual creams, gels, ointments and pharmaceuticals you would expect. The big ticket items here are sunscreen, hats, beach umbrellas targeted at the people that trudge down to the beach - as well as after-sun and aloe vera gels for those sunburnt tourists on their way back home.

This store is located on Old South Head Road in Rose Bay and helping drop prices in an otherwise expensive area. Prescriptions are cheap and you no longer need to pay a premium to your local pharmacy for the same medication. The store is spacious and usually relatively quiet so the staff have a little more time to assist you in a more personal way. Small but traditional; hasn't changed too much to keep up with the times and trend of the area: except for the signage. It is a handy locale to have in Rozelle, in a quite prominent position with quality service to boot. Spacious, and aisles are well stocked and have everything (if not nearly everything) that you will need instead of going to an expensive convenience supermarket or a convenience store or service station for such health and beauty products. It is the environment that enables anyone to be quite comfortable to buy anything here; even men to buy condoms etc without feeling embarrassed. Friendly and inviting with great service to match. I quickly learned that it's one of the most popular pharmacy chains in Australia, similar to CVS or Walgreens in the U.S., but much larger and better organized. Everything was clearly organized, making it easy to find what I needed without wandering around the store. The biggest surprise was the pricing. I found several Australian-made vitamins that I've previously purchased on Amazon, and they were selling for about a third of what I paid back home. The savings were so good that I ended up buying nearly a year's supply. If you're visiting Australia and need vitamins, supplements, or health products, I highly recommend stopping by Chemist Warehouse.
