We went in there in the middle of a…read moresnow storm after looking at a very appetizing menu that included seafood, pasta dishes, meats and poultry. And once we went inside, we had a virtual army of waiters tending to us. My partner had the prawn risotto and I had the Sea Bass Mediterranean style, which the server asks the guest whether it should be served whole or filleted. I am not a fan of cooked fish heads so I asked for a filleted bass from the kitchen... yeah I'm chicken.... We accompanied the meal with a very good Valais wine, just to ensure we were paying homage to the local culture. The entire meal was very, very good, and the service was excellent. It isn't cheap, but worth it.
There is also a large bar area where a couple of dozen people were seated and having a grand old time.
The only sad occurrence was not the restaurant's fault but if any, it enhanced my liking for the place. An apparently nuveau rich Russian family with what was obviously an extremely low level of sophistication, became wildly upset over a half a percent mistake in the conversion between Euros and Swiss Francs and they started a one-man scandal, yelling and screaming at the waiter in the middle of the restaurant. The table next to them, obviously a French group, were so aghast that they covered their faces in disgust. But the waiter maintained his composure and the manager quickly dissuaded the crisis. The class was definitely on the Swiss side...
