We thought it would be a good place to celebrate the Fourth of July, the American national holiday. Boy, were we wrong
The waiter told us that our food would be ready in about half an hour, because the tables outside are busy (even though the inside of the restaurant was empty, except for us). It took over an hour. In that time, no one came to update us on the status of the order, apologize for the delay, or ask if we wanted something else to drink.
In that hour, the kitchen could not manage to coordinate the time that all of the food came out.
In our party of eight, two orders were wrong.
One of those orders was blackened salmon. It was cooked at the ends, but was raw in the middle. Even though the person had already eaten from the piece of fish, the exact same piece of fish was thrown on the grill, cooked some more, then came back on the same plate extremely unhygienic.
*We asked to talk to the manager twice, so that the restaurant would have the chance to make things right. The first time, the waiter came back, stating that the manager would not talk to us because she was busy. The second time we asked, the waiter refused to even look for the manager. We had to ask multiple times for the manager's name and restaurant address, to write a letter of complaint. We also had to ask the waiter multiple times for his name. What kind of a manager refuses to talk to customers?!
I have never had such terrible customer service at a restaurant, ever. There are better meals to be had in Jena, anyway.
Edit, 1:04 p.m., July 5: I tried to write to the restaurant via its Facebook page, merely writing that the restaurant had terrible customer service. My comments were immediately deleted, and the restaurant staff still did not try to get in touch with me via Facebook. My post (and a few comments from people who were also at the restaurant with me last night) was deleted, and the restaurant has still not tried to address the issue. Cheers, if you see this, I am still interested in your feedback. A letter to your manager is being sent out this afternoon
Edit, 2:34 p.m., July 26: I sent a letter to the manager, asking for a response, and have still not heard anything back. In addition, I had to pass by the restaurant the other day. The waiter we had on July 4 was working and stepped on my dog, who was on leash. I don't know if this was a matter of incompetence or rudeness, but he didn't apologize for it, even though the yelp was pretty obvious. read more
