As the owner of another event vendor working the same event, I had a firsthand interaction with the owner of CHEERS. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely unprofessional. During the event, members of my staff were subjected to yelling and profanity while they were serving the client's guests. After the event, I personally received multiple phone calls in which I was sworn at, called names, and spoken to in an intimidating and demeaning manner. In my experience, professionalism and mutual respect between vendors are essential to creating a successful event for our shared client. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. read more

The owner John P was the most rude and disrespectful business owner Ive ever come across. He was screaming at me over tables being not where he liked at a party he was bartending at even though the homeowner wanted them there. He proceeded to call my boss and yell and swear at her when the whole situation had nothing to do with him. Then he ate before and GUESTS at the party and when I asked him to wait he told me to "get the fuck away from him". I would never recommend hiring him for anything he wants to speak about customer service when he treats people like trash. Do yourself a favor and find a different company to hire. The couple who hired him for the event said they will NEVER be hiring him again and were embarrassed by his actions. He needs some serious help being a grown man screaming at people for things that have nothing to do with him. read more

John: Without our consent; added and charged us for new members the day of the party.. upping the price dramatically. We are currently pursuing legal action against Cheers Butler. We had a special surprise 40th birthday planned; and he had crew members yelling at each other at our party; we needed to calm his staff down ... it was a very bizzare experience. John Piro always delivers - he has assisted me with several large family get togethers, most recently a Gender Reveal Party. The staff who arrived were very professional and went to work right away helping set up our tent, tables, chairs and tables. Then moved on to getting all the horsd'oeuvres in place on the tables, and as the food arrived from the caterer they displayed everything very nicely on the tables and put all the drinks in coolers with ice and as guests arrived served them with efficiency. The answer is YES. Cheers Butler Service is the way to go. Two weeks before my party (60 guests) I contacted John Piro, Owner of this incredible catering and staffing company. Together with Chef Vicki, they quickly put a menu together a course of action, staffing plan and menu that would turn my gathering into an absolute success. The presentation was excellent, the food was beautiful and beyond delicious, they offered a special warm cocktail that tasted like apple pie - perfect for an event on a chilly New England night. All of my guests that tried it loved it. I was skeptical as they do not provide a complimentary tasting, but decided to go with it and cannot tell you how glad I am that I dod. John clearly understands the overall needs of an event and is not a caterer who only sees the value of good fare. The bartender, Becca, was amazing, attentive and upbeat. Everyone spoke about how great she was and we have a video of her dancing. Happy bartender - happy guests! Vicki and her assistant/server Bonnie (who was wonderful and engaging) worked hard to keep the food flowing as I chose an hors d'oeuvres menu. Vicki, is laser focused in her execution, knows her foods, how to display (she has a great eye for layout and colour) and what works best. She was very kind as we worked through shifting ingredients to accommodate gluten free needs (all of which were delicious). There were no surprises, they provided assurance through consistent communication and efforts to keep expenses within a reasonable range. Simply, John Piro is a good guy, with a lot of experience who does the right things. (Somehow, he ended up better situating a parking issue as well.) So tried to hire this company and was told that "it's sounds like you are going to be a difficult client, and I just rather not get involved." All because I said, the bar is not going to be opened until after dinner. WTH. It's mine wedding and I'm paying, so if I want the bar closed till after dinner, that's what I want. We were able to speak with the chef that would prepare the food to customize our selections. The servers are kind , friendly and wonderful. We turned our kitchen over to them & they made it all happen effortlessly! When they left after the party, everything was cleaned up and the leftovers packed up and in my fridge! John even returned the next day and helped me fold up the chairs that the rental company was coming to pick up, He is a consummate professional who goes the extra mile for his clients. Cheers has always been my "go to" for party planning. Not only are John and his staff professional but they keep my parties neat, organized and the clean up job is fantastic. The servers are friendly and take care of all my guests needs. They run the party so well that I actually feel like a guest myself! This was our third party with Cheers!! Each time the staff was friendly, fun and awesome at their jobs! Cheers provided a wonderful Birthday experience for my Husband... He was a hunter, and we had venison and pheasant galore. I wanted to learn better ways to cook it. The servers left early of their own without our consent, and the owner refused to credit us for the time they missed. They started the clean up prematurely of the own accord while guests were still there. The leftovers which they say were left, for us were not there. Although they started an hour before the guests arrived, they did not have the coffee ready for them when they arrived. One of the servers unapologetically spilt coffee on one of our guests.I found the servers attitudes reprehensible, and would not recommend this company. read more

We have used Cheers many times, but most notably for our wedding. The professionalism and efficiency was supreme, and my wife's ambitious plan was pulled off without a hitch. In an unusual venue, with little in the way of resources, Cheers pulled together a mobile kitchen, waitstaff, and bartenders and integrated seamlessly with the rest of the event. We have a really large group for Thanksgiving every year ( and sometimes during the year as well) and John has provided us with excellent staff to help so I can enjoy the day. We usually get a party chef who knows how to to handle the food as well as someone to help serve and clean up. It's been a godsend and makes the day so much more fun!
