Worked for this company for about a month. Then nothing no response no schedule nothing. I feel this is very unprofessional. I always have good communication I feel they should have told me they no longer needed me or something as I would have told them if I couldn't work. After asking what my goals were Thomas told me a bottle every 5 mins. At a store that had 75 people that came in on my 4 your shift. Yes I kept track because I felt I wasn't doing good enough. Accused me of not "clocking in and out" (but I did) and threatened to not pay me. I put in a lot of hours and counting all the inventory at the beginning and end of a shift took FOREVER. I could not risk working and not getting paid, so I quit. read more

This is a Promotional company that hires individuals to conduct wine events in the Orlando and surrounding areas. I answered an add seeking a wine consultant in the Orlando area, I was contacted by a guy named Adam , he stated he wanted to do a Skype interview with me, I complied and the interview began, it was an odd interview ( as I have been a professional in the field for many years), Adam read from my resume for about 2minutes told me I was perfect for the position and when could I start and just as quick said let me get my partner to speak with you I will call you back on the Skype in a few minutes. 2 hours later Adam calls me via Skype again, this time he speaks of nothing professional ask me where I am from and then proceeds to ask me to smile and move my camera up and down to attempt to see my body ( I was cover up in a jacket) I did not comply because I realized that the partner was on the Skype viewing in secret from another computer. When I started to speak to ask what was going on Adam stated his Skype had a issue and he disconnected. Ladies Beware this is a huge Violation There is nothing Professional in regards to this company and now that I am working in the industry I have heard that these guys are creeps and their employees have a hard time getting paid and the turnover in employees large. read more

I totally agree with the person who wrote the first review. Yes, they insist on using Skype for the interview. I had another full time job at the time and was very busy. Skype was not working well with my smart phone. I could not get the sound to work. When I asked if I could send them a link to duo, which is my "face time" app, they dismissed the idea entirely and redirected me to Skype which clearly was not working well. Basically they just wanted to make sure I was attractive enough for the job, and pretty much said they got an idea of what I looked like and we could complete the rest of the interview over the phone. I was told when I was hired that the job was $15/hr plus commission. I was also told that I would start out working only Saturdays and Sundays which would later turn into Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Both of these things were lies! After working for a few months and they were happy with my service, I asked about the commission. I was told that after 60 days of work, commission would come into play. After 60 days I asked again about the commission. At that point, I was told that I had to sell "lots" in order to get it, but was not given any specific amount as an incentive. They make you not only call in and out to a number from the store phone to keep track of attendance, but also get managers to ridiculously sign a time sheet upon arrival and then again on departure. Even the managers felt like the extra signuratures were overkill because they would roll their eyes or seem perturbed when asked. So to avoid having to chase down a manager twice, I would just ask one time since they remembered seeing me there two days in a row. Occasionally, they would be difficult and not sign it over a technicality (like not being there the day before, but the manager who was there the day before had already gone home so in that case you're SOL). Not only that, but if you forget to call in right away because you get distracted setting up or if you stay late cleaning and putting stuff away, they refuse to pay you for your time. If you work for this company, you will inevitably run into other promoters who were past employees of "cheerful promotion" who claim that they had difficulties getting paid as well. The owner of this company is cheap. The standard alcoholic beverage promo job I found out is $30/hr, and are only required to work 3 hour blocks a certain amount of days per week and it can be whenever they choose. I quit after my direct manager got sick, and I refused to work for the owner because I felt he was very rude, arrogant and womanizing. Then a guy named Adam contacted me apologizing for him and asked me to come back. At that point, I took on the extra responsibility of my old manager, Johnny who got sick but was not getting paid any differently. My inquiries to Adam about commission were completely ignored. Then I was randomly emailed saying that my services were no longer needed because I had "said some really nasty things about fresh market management on their website." I honestly think that was a mix up or someone who hacked into my Google account or Facebook or whatever the accusation was. Anyway, I was only doing them a favor by staying there because they didn't have anyone else so I feel totally used, misled, lied to, and ultimately accused of some strange behaviors that are not even within my personality to do. Do yourself a favor and move along when you see they are hiring and if trully want to be a promo girl or guy, there are tons of them out there that pay better with less drama!
