There is no online option to report maintenance issues, you can only call the main office during their business hours. There is an emergency maintenance line after hours, but any time I have called about any concerns, they have given me attitude and told me it wasn't an emergency and I would just have to wait. When the elevator stopped working while I had a broken foot, the emergency maintenance person had the nerve to tell me I could either use the elevator or the stairs, and since the elevator wasn't working, so had to just use the stairs, despite me having a cast on my foot and being non-weight-bearing. I have lived here since August 2024, and the elevator has been broken at least 20 different times, often for days at a stretch. The railings in the stairwells were literally loose and detaching from the walls, which was a complete safety hazard especially for someone with physical disabilities, and were not fixed until I personally complained several times. There were days I had to miss work because the elevator wasn't working and I couldn't use the stairs, and when I finally could use them, I was experiencing increased pain in my foot and knee from overexertion. This building is not safe or reliable for anyone with mobility issues.
In addition, the water is shut off almost every other week for emergency leaks and repairs. Often, these notices come with less than 24 hours notice. There were water bubbles in my kitchen wall under the paint that got moldy and were never fixed despite my complaint. The tenants above me would fill up their bathtub and the water would leak into my bathroom. The ceiling would be cracking and dripping, and the superintendent would just slap some plaster over it and paint over it each time. This had to be re-fixed 3 times. I had to get my bathroom towel rack fixed 3 times as well because they weren't attaching it back to the wall well enough. There is always garbage outside in the driveway and parking lot, examples have included dead mice in glue traps, chicken bones, and bloody pads/tampons, not being picked up by custodial crews for weeks at a stretch. People from this building or the neighboring building throw bread into our driveway, so there are tons of pigeons everywhere. I don't mind the birds, but someone ran over 2 and they laid out there, flattened, in the driveway for weeks like the dead mice. It was really quite distressing to see outside your own home, especially as someone who has a lot of love and respect for animals. There is no decent parking in the area so tenants have their guests park in the driveway, in other people's parking spots, or in made up spots that block access. My parking spot was on the end and it turned into a lake anytime it rained. In the winter, the plow would push all the snow up behind my car and it would be so difficult to dig my car out and maneuver in and out. I have had several packages go missing and management has said it's not their concern and I need to file a police report. The police said that management needs to file a report with them. I've tried working with the USPS too. It's all back and forth and nothing is ever resolved, I just end up losing money and energy. Despite all these concerns, they still want to keep raising rent. Over the two years I've been here, nothing has gotten better, if anything, it's gotten worse. We've also been through 3 superintendents in 2 years, so do with that what you will. I appreciate the concern from Elena to make the community more respectful of each other, but if the building is falling apart and dirty, there's less care from tenants to take care of it. The building is humid, musty, and full of flies in the summer. If you're looking for a place to stay, this is it, but if you're looking for a place to LIVE, keep looking.
