Service - both the bar and the table service was very good. Food - from the bread and butter, the Hush Puppies and the Bone-In Pork Chop, everything was very good. All three items were unique in their own way. They pork chop was cooked to the right temperature and it was very tender. However, what made it great was the sauce that accompanied the pork chop. Overall - come for the bourbon and stay for the food! This place is a gem.

We had a 6:30 reservation and showed up at 6 to have a drink at the bar and there were actually empty seats, which never happens. We had lemon drop martinis and old fashioneds and everyone was happy. Once seated, it took awhile for our server to arrive and we wanted more drinks. The bar was extremely slow getting drinks to the table. There are loads of appetizers and we chose to share the hush puppies as we had them last time and liked them. They arrived quickly and weren't nearly as good as before. These were barely warm and much more chewy. For my entree I chose the roasted chicken. It came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Our meals arrived timely and the food was hot. My meal was good. Service was decent during our time there. As time went on, the crowd got busier and the room got louder and louder. That's a Friday night for you!

I ordered the Jefe, which was a fully dressed burger on a brioche bun with pickled peppers and bacon. Tons of flavor. And it's a messy burger, the kind I like. My lunch date had the BCB which a regular cheeseburger fully dressed out. She said it was the best burger she's ever had. The owner, Corey, was quick with the order which is made after you order. Everything tasted fresh. Seating is outside on 1 of 2 picnic tables. They are in the shade. No music or anything, just the noise of the traffic going by. The place is big inside and cute. Negatives: food options seem a bit limited, especially if you don't eat pork or lots of carbs/sugar. No fancy coffee drinks. I was going to try their corned beef hash but learned it was from a can instead of homemade. I went for the veggie & cheese omelet (minus peppers). There was no option on type of cheese, just American. The omelet was filled, which was nice, but it seemed at least the mushrooms weren't fresh and were also canned. The grits were pretty good, not sure why mine came in a bowl (which I liked). But my partner's were on the plate with his omelet. He ordered one with sausage, which he said was ok, but he didn't love it due to the type of cheese. We didn't try the coffee as we prefer cold brew or cappuccino, so we stuck with water. Our server was very nice and came back often. This just isn't really our type of establishment, so I do not see us returning or recommending.

That's my gripe that I had to really look for just to be fair. The burger was great. Got the BayBay. Egg was perfect as well as the heat and spice. Fries were plentiful and perfectly done. These are those skin on kinda potatoes. Only thing is, I wish there was some malt vinegar at the tables for the fries, but that's just me. I did get the burger rolls to go (kinda like egg rolls) and they were good after a 30 minute drive home, but would definitely have to get them again in restaurant to give them a solid review. Tables are usually tables of 4, but there are a few long tables there for seating, I think the dining room can hold about 30ish people? Friendly service when I visited. Definitely recommend!
