Perfectly cooked, stacked with pepper jack and onion rings, this was a truly satisfying meal. And an interestingly spicy dip for the accompanying fries was excellent. She was so sweet. This place does karaoke a few nights a week. Everyone there is so pleasant and not afraid to get on stage and sing! There are literally only a handful of seats in front of the stage, with a smallish dancefloor between the two. Volume levels are entirely too loud for this small of a venue, and the lighting is terrible. Being located on Foster street, parking is a MAJOR pain in the back side. I got extremely lucky and found a parking space directly in front, but some band members weren't so fortunate, and had to walk their gear quite a way to get to the venue. The highest point of my visit was with the bar staff. They were very friendly, provided great recommendations for non-alcoholic beverages, and were very prompt. Food-wise, they server slices of pizza from Atlas Pizza right next door. This is convenient, and mine was served to me piping hot.

Among other highlights. So when Old Gilbert took over the spot, I had small hopes, but one leery eye on the door. I've been in a good number of times now, and in comparison to its predecessors, it's fantastic. One generally feels pretty safe, and the flair for the dramatic is low. All in all, it's pretty bare bones. I'm waiting for it to fully develop its personality, but for now its theme to me is: cheap thrills, no frills.
