Dealing with the dispatch person and the cab showing up were fine. The driver was also okay except he only put on his seatbelt when we were passing a LEO in a school zone and only signaled turns half of the time. The very bad parts were the price and the cab, itself. The dispatcher told me there was a $35.50 minimum price, which is ridiculous. But I was desperate and didn't have Internet access so I could use Uber or Lyft, which I did on my first ride of the day, from my home to a medical appointment for less than $15.00. It was only 6.8 miles! The $25+ difference in the rides was outrageous! What upset me more was how disgustingly filthy the car was. There were suspicious stains all over the seats and the headliner. I could just imagine someone projectile vomiting from the seats to the headliner. Then the door was also extremely dirty! The car was smelly (you could smell old cigarette smoke) and the A/C didn't work...at least not in the hellish back seat. I asked the driver if he could make it cooler but, I guess, he couldn't. When I got home, I took off my clothes and told my daughter to burn them. And then I wiped myself down with Lysol disinfectant wipes. I honestly felt subhuman sitting in that nasty car. Although we ended up canceling the ride because her doctors office set her up with one, Jackie really was great and showed excellent customer service and patience helping me. Just not a great or even friendly experience. We rarely call cabs but today we had no choice. The dispatcher was having a bad day and was screeching at me over the phone. Then she had to call back because we sent the driver to the wrong entrance. I apologized and she screeched 'are you kidding me!' before hanging up. The driver is fine and his music was OK for the first three songs and then it turned really bad. The next song was full of profanities including the "N" word every 3-5 words. That was too much but we didn't say anything to him as we didn't want to walk the rest of the way home. Lesson learned, never call a cab during a Mercury Retrograde. read more

If I could I would leave no stars for this company. I called to book a doctor's appointment a day before. The day of the appointment they arrived 20 min late because they were waiting on a credit card form in which I had to wait on them to send to me 10 min before pick up. I called 7am on the dot to make payment and they didn't send the form until 8:15am , 15 min before pick up. So because I had to wait until someone got to the office to get payment, they went late for my customer. I run a national transportation service and this by far was horrible service. Such a bad way to conduct business especially when it comes to picking up patients on time for appointments. I even tried to make payment at the time of booking and they didn't want to take it until the next day right before the ride was scheduled. Then the driver blames me, saying he's late because the card transaction was late going through. No! It was not late. I had to wait on someone for over an hour to make a payment. Called for taxi service at 550 am, On a Monday. We drove down to Orlando area (Davenport) from Midwest, husband had to catch a flight out of Orlando airport. We had car issues and needed last minute taxi service to airport. Called Checker Cab gave the man our location and were told "Good luck and airport trips needed to be arranged the night before.". We called another company who could not get to us in a timely manner BUT recommended another company to help us. Flight not missed $90 fare each way plus tip. We will not call Checker again. I was going to tip you 10 dollars anyway but the point is you don't just take a tip without any consent you have it given to you. Terrible cab service! Cars are a piece of junk, handle was broke couldn't open the door.i was advised it would be 30 minutes it took an hour and 5 phone calls. On the first trip the driver arrived earlier then the estimated time - plus! On the return trip they were 15 minutes later then the pre-arranged time, not a big deal but keeps them from the 5 star rating. After the Driver took me to my destination he accused me of stealing $20 from him. So i showed him my wallet and that i did not even have another $20 bill. After being in my house 10 mins the driver knocked loud and in a rude manner. I answered to door to him still saying i took his 20 and demanding i come look in his car for it. So i said sure let me grab a flashlight. I returned into my home to retrieve a flashlight. The driver began knocking loudly again now knowing there were 2 young children asleep that he was waking up. At this point I told him I was no longer willing to help him. He then put his hands on me and tried to keep me from returning to my home. This is the worst cab company ever!!! There cars break down nonstop. The drivers and customers are always in danger when in the cabs. One of the last times I was in a cab I had a great driver but the car kept stalling and it scared the crap out of me. I asked the driver and he said that the company won't fix the cars because it costs too much. OMG! Is it really worth putting peoples life at risk.
