I tried to park here during the Little Canada citywide garage sales - they have a huge parking lot and it was empty before they opened - I got a good stink eye from an employee walking in and someone else came out to tell us we had to move even before we left the car - aight, should have parked in back where you wouldn't have noticed.... Anyway, after we were done saleing - we did come back to dig through this place and I loved it. Prices are extremely low and there are plenty of good things to find! I bought some things just because of the price (do I really need two pictures of chickadees in heart shaped frames? Or a toy dragon? Or a puzzle? Or a mug with vegetables on it? Of course not!) I also found some really cute booties - I would love to go back and spend more time someday!

The men's clothing selection was fairly average, while the women's section felt stronger with more variety. They also carry some home goods, though there are almost no electronics if that's what you're looking for. There is not an endless amount of merchandise so don't show up with specific items to buy. I highly recommend making a shopping date with friends and then hitting coffee afterwards. Bonus: Flying Pig is typically open until 6 pm and Ginkgo 8 pm!! Flying Pig Thrift is staffed primarily by volunteers and everyone is beyond kind. Community resources are available onsite via a bulletin board and the shop supports 3 main non-profit groups. Within the dressing area room, there was a flyer supporting mental health resources and I smiled when I saw it. There are a wide variety of items that shift seasonally and frequently. Items are fairly priced and there are often sales, half price item days and even a permanent sale section in the back. I was really excited to score a denim button up with funky colorful bird designs, a cute yellow bee kind sweatshirt along with a black Nike top. In addition to clothes, there are shoes, cards, jewelry, some handcrafted art, home decor, hospital scrubs, board games, records, magazines and more. Thank you Flying Pig Thrift! I've been very curious about the store because it had been receiving a lot of hype. I am very glad I stopped in and will be doing so again in the future. NIne lives is a small but well stocked thrift store with a wide range of women's sizes. Their selection is well organized, and well curated. It doesn't have the funky smell one runs into sometimes with thrift stores. I found a number of cute items. Unfortunately, none of them fit, but the selection was good enough that I want to stop again. Thrift stores are always hit and miss, so it's nice to have one that is so well organized. Great job!

Was waiting for a shop around the corner to open and had twenty minutes to kill. Spotted this place…read morebecause of the bright neon outside the entrance, luring you in. I've got antique store in my blood (legitimately, not a turn of phrase: my paternal grandma used to own one), so I'm drawn to this kind of place, especially as thrifting/buying used is more environmentally-friendly (and we as a society desperately need to shift gears away from fast fashion). Immediately upon entry I glimpsed the signs that this place was inclusive of me and those like me. The pride flag, the genderless toilets marked humorously with "whatever" signs. I was drawn in. You can tell that a lot of the consignment owners put a good deal of effort into making each of their "cubicles" stand out and have individuality that matches their brand. Seeing as I was here at the tail end of September, that meant many of the booths were spooky-themed and/or had Halloween items for sale. Dangerous for anyone who's a fan of the holiday. I definitely plan to come back AFTER Halloween and see what Christmas decorations take their place! It'll probably feel like an entirely different experience dependent on the season! Anyway, the cool thing about a place like this (if you've never been to one) is that you don't have to worry about keeping track of which store you picked up what item from. They have tags on each item so the employee at the checkout counter can sort all that for you and collect a single amount from you to distribute appropriately among their consignment sellers. I noticed they have baskets you can grab to help you shop (also dangerous, lol) because this place is QUITE expansive and winding. Be sure to check around each nook and cranny to see it all! (But also keep in mind, stock will always be rotating, so there'll always be new things to see.) There's lots of clothes and apparel accessories, of course, but also lots of home decor items, media like books, CDs, VHS, records, etc., toys and more. Really you gotta go see it for yourself. You'll be wandering about in something akin to awe! I would say the prices are okay. This isn't a place you're going to find big bargains. But you won't get gouged either. It's a place to discover something from your childhood and reclaim it for a reasonable finder's fee, essentially. Long story short, I killed more than forty-five minutes here, well over what I needed, hahaha, and came out with a couple cute clown-themed things to add to my growing collection. Hooray! Also neat is that they have a coffee shop in the back that also serves things like pastries and sodas for a very reasonable price. This area is spacious with lots of seating; clearly it's meant as a place to gather and hangout with friends. They even had an NES set up on a TV to play if you wanted. Very queer-friendly. It probably deserves its own separate review.

An employee came out of garage and walked down to the end of the line to grab the sign. This was 5:54 pm and apparently they close at 6pm. When this employee came out, he communicated nothing to the people in line, many of which had their windows down. A little after 6 a different employee comes out and says we closed at 6. We let her know the employee came out and said nothing. She told us that we should have heard it on the sound system outside. Also nothing communicated over sound system. It was very disappointing to have been waiting and be the next in line and then told we can't donate. The employee who came out before close could have communicated verbally or with body language that they are not taking vehicles anymore instead left us all there hanging.
