The Manager here is absolutely awful. She has no respect for the hairdressers or customers. I hate going into places and hearing staff get cussed out by the manager for such simple things, that could've easily been discussed in private. I have never seen such an unprofessional manager, until I went in for a clip. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that it's not comforting to hear to hear "F*ck" after every other word. We used to use Chatters for our entire family. My daughter would make appts in advance only to find out a day before that her stylist would not be available and that someone else could do her hair. My daughter would then reluctantly rebook with her stylist expecting to get the haircut she is used to. But guess what, same thing again. This time they did not phone to let her know. Truly frustrating. After this happened to me...we were done with Chatters forever. read more

I brought my daughter to Chatters to trim her hair a few days ago. I phone in advance and scheduled an appointment with Tamara, who had 10 years experience. I came in and without any explanation a stylist with a different name wanted to start a haircut. I invited a receptionist and said that I had an appointment with Tamara. I was told that Tamara is with another client and I had to accept that another stylist had to get a hair cut. My daughter wanted just to trim the ends, about 1 inch , just to get a straight line. I didn't watch what the hairdresser was doing. After the job was done, I was shocked: Distinctive V-shape was done. The stylist cut about 4 (!) inches around the face. I told that I didn't asked for that type of cut. The hairdresser started ( without covering clothes ) to cut hair trying to make the perimeter more straight. Result: upset child, clothes covered by hair, wrong hair style. Very poor service. read more

I was warned in advance by numerous people not to go to Chatters, and unfortunately I didn't listen. I am so disgusted by the service I received at this salon. I asked the stylist to get my hair as blonde as possible (I am a brunette naturally) without making my hair red. She made a MESS of my hair, used blonde hair colour without bleach and this turned it orange-pink - it looked like part of a costume. She then tried to tell me I was wrong and it was just the colour of their walls making it appear so strange. I called back when I got home to tell her that the colour was still horrible even in natural lighting. She said to come back and she would fix it - not for free, mind you...she charged me AGAIN the same price as she had charged the first time. She used the same dye and got it a bit lighter, and somehow even more orange. This time she acknowledged that the colour was odd, but she told me it was MY fault and I must be taking medication or something (beg your pardon, but I don't take ANYthing) that caused a chemical reaction. Her attitude was very rude, as though I was just complaining and wasting her time. I was so upset afterward (this whole process cost me $300) that I called the manager of the salon to let her know and ask for some kind of help...she told me that the stylist had been doing hair for a long time and therefore she must have done it properly... No offer to have someone else fix it for free, no offer of a refund or even a discount, nothing. Just more blame from someone who should have been the boss in charge of quality control. I was able to go to another salon in town and they fixed my hair (making it exactly the blonde colour I asked for) in one session for $90, I have been a loyal customer there ever since, no stress and no rudeness when I go there. According to my current hairdresser, there is NO excuse for what happened at Chatters...I don't have any freak "chemical reactions" at my current salon and if there was a mistake it would be fixed promptly without any kind of cost incurred on my part. Don't ever trust Chatters with your hair colour needs. I'd hate to see what they do with a pair of scissors! And know that if you do go and it's a disaster, the manager won't give a damn or do anything to make it right. Disgusting. read more
