The prices are competitive and you always get dealt with quickly. When they are busy, they do not panic and complete your orders as soon as possible so you never feel like you have to wait long. I have also eaten in the small restaurant area to the side of the takeaway and found that I received excellent service. Certainly a place that you need to visit to experience great food at even better prices.

I enjoy visiting fish and chip shops when in England because back home in Northern Ireland the standards are generally poor in comparison when dealing with battered products. In NI we are accustomed to thick, heavy batter with a hard outer shell at either end and often a layer of dough underneath. In England, I can be fairly confident about getting very light batter which is neither hard nor undercooked. The Fish House in Ely definitely met my expectations very favourably and if my stay in Ely had been longer, I would most definitely have returned!
