As two moms meeting for coffee with our young children, that atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. Unfortunately, our experience in person was very different from what we expected. The space felt cold and industrial, with concrete floors, minimal décor, and very little to soften the noise. It was extremely echoey, and between the kitchen sounds and overall volume, it wasn't the comfortable environment we had hoped to spend time in with our babies. While there were couches and seating available, the overall setup felt more geared toward quick visits or takeout than relaxing and staying awhile. The coffee itself was good, and the menu offered plenty of interesting food and drink options. I can see how the space might appeal to someone looking for a quick coffee stop or a place to work on a laptop. However, the atmosphere wasn't inviting enough for us to want to stay, relax, or order anything additional. We were hoping for a cozy coffee shop experience, and the space simply didn't deliver that feeling. The biggest disappointment was the disconnect between the impression we got from social media and the actual experience of the space. Had we known what it was really like, we likely would have chosen a different location for our coffee meetup. Others may enjoy the industrial style, but families or friends looking for a warm, lounge-style coffee shop to settle into for a while may find the experience different than expected.

The coffee are excellent, but the food is incredible I opted for an avocado toast since the salmon toast that I saw listed in the yelp menu photos is no longer offered (boo). I went for the Cadillac option, going all-in having on a bagel and topped with an egg. This was a wise move and fantastic. The bagel was light, not dense and doughy and perfectly toasted. The avocado was generously applied and didn't taste like it was out of a spray can, like I anticipated. It had nice chunks of fresh avocado. On top was drizzled garlic infused olive oil and home made pickled onions. Well done! My only negative comment was that only two people were working, one dedicated in the kitchen and this really slowed down service with the other employee handling orders and coffee production. It was a good 10 minutes to order and the place was far from busy. It took another good 10 minutes to get my coffee. They really need a third person. I'm not complaining, but want to calibrate customer expectations in case someone was in a hurry. I would definitely come back and I'd like to check out the tap room when in operation.

The employee who showed me around the roastery took a personal interest in getting to know me and my love for coffee and tailored the tour to my interests and level of knowledge. He didn't seemed rushed and was genuinely interested in sharing with me about Boston Stoker, like their history and what they have been doing in the specialty coffee world. To top off the visit with a wonderful display of souther hospitality he brewed me a pour over of a favorite coffee the team was drinking at the time and sent me off with a bunch of sweet stickers.
