We were driving into town, all set for an afternoon of shopping and sightseeing when i spied this magnificent bronze eagle with its wings spread in flight.
It turned out to be part of a gorgeous world war one memorial set on the grounds of the chatham community center.
As gorgeous as the eagle is, equally striking was the engraved bronze plaque with its inscription and relief sculptures of a soldier and a seaman.
