This is a complaint for siding issue that I filed with the installer July 28th of 2022 for what are called nail pops on my siding. They are visible on three sides of the house. East, West, and South. No nail pops on the North side of the house. When I contacted the installer, they told me that I needed to file a warranty claim against the maker of the siding. (I also sent Elk River exterior photos of the siding.) Elk River Exterior claimed it was a problem with the siding. So I filled out a warranty form and sent pictures to the manufacturer (PLY GEM). Also the owner of Elk River Exterior came and took pictures of the problem and sent to Ply Gem. After much time of going back and forth with the manufacture (Ply Gem) and the Installer (Elk River Exteriors), the manufacture of the siding (Ply Gem) finally sent a Technical Service Representative to inspect the siding in April. His response to the (Nail Pops) was found to be the direct result of improper installation techniques or practices. Some of the discrepancies noted but not limited to include *Nailing at end of nail slots *Nails protruding * Nails from nail hem causing heat buildup/water retention between the panel and fastener. * Nailed to tight, nails at opposite ends of nails, and /or panels that were not given proper clearance to expand as temperatures varied. Ply Gem encouraged us to contact the company that installed siding. But Elk River Exteriors still insist that it is a manufacturing issue with the siding and as of June 19th, 2023 I received a voicemail from the Owner of Elk River Exterior that they will not be correcting the issue.

They showed up to work on the job when they said they would, painting my exterior with precision and care and stayed on the job until it was completed. This home is a three story Victorian with areas that are not easy to reach, and intricate trim that is unusual. They were professional, competent, and skilled at their craft. They were considerate by caulking joints that needed it, pointed out issues I could not see from the ground on my three story home, and completing the work to my expectations. The price was very reasonable and they did a walk around to confirm the work. They have a small town "responsible for their work" value system that left me feeling that they were trustworthy and honest. They were careful with my exterior plantings. The work they did has added to the value of my home but it was done with such ease that I wish I could have them do all of the maintenance work (plumbing, electrical etc) as it was so easy for me, and that is not my usual experience. I have contracted with them to do interior work, and would be ok with them in my home when I am at work based on the care they showed for my property. As a woman, I am thrilled to work with craftsmen who show respect for me and my instructions. Corey and his crew are so professional and respectful that I would recommend them to my elderly female relatives with confidence that they would be treated well. I confidently recommend them to anyone who has exterior or interior painting needs as of their competence, straight-forward approach, professional and courteous interactions, that are done in a timely manner with customer service as their motto. The curb is very very uneven in width and straightness, it looks really bad. Also when doing the concrete sidewalk they were very careless around the shrubs. A lot of damage that could have been avoided with even a little bit of care.
