I love this branch. I go to Chase weekly for work and this location is by far my favorite. Everyone is so friendly. If I have to wait in line, someone acknowledges me & tells me they'll be right with me. If it's a hot day they'll offer water bottles. The tellers are always efficient & professional. Chase used to be great. Now, They are gooing down hill. Its almost impossible to get a hold of someone, I get put on hold for more then an hour, then they just hang up. I Call back, and choose a call back option, They never Call back, and when they decide to call back, I say hello, and they automatically hang up. They never leave a voicemail. poor service all around. Customer service inside the Santee Branch, is great. It's The corporate, the 800 number that you call is horrible customer service. They have the nerve to say on the recording When you are on hold, saying - we value your service and we'll be with you shortly. They don't value anything, and don't care. Came in without my debit card to withdrawal $350. Handed the teller my id and slip. She asked me to verify my SSN which I did. Then proceeded to tell me It's not me with her look of oh I caught you it's not you. I've never had this issue and look just like my ID. Was not the least bit nice or apologetic in the end and refuse to escalate this with management. I would never come back to this branch again. The staff is always super helpful and Friendly. The manager there is really nice too. They always ask how you are doing and make small talk. I like how they have what they are saving money for on their name tag. That's pretty cool. I love that this location has 3 outside ATMs. One walk up ATM and 2 Drive up ATMs. Be prepared to open ur door at the drive up. It's hard to reach but depends on ur vehicle. They always have FREE cold water and hot coffee! I especially love that they have Lollipops or other Candy for the Children. read more

She took a situation that was stressful and made it very easy and helped us so much .She was able to set up a trust account for us . I had an experience at the Chase Bank (Santee Branch) worth sharing on Yelp. The reason is stated in the last paragraph. I had a Chase business check transaction. The teller who is actually a manager asked me, "Do you know who our clients' authorized signers are on this account?". The question not only made me felt uneasy, but I respectfully stated the answer should be found on the Chase system. I was then brushed off to wait in the lobby. Another manager assumed assisting me because the branch was closing soon. I described what happen and how I felt uncomfortable with the question due to the privacy act. I wasn't the only customer in the branch. Here is the reason I'm writing this review. After I told the manager about the privacy act (Privacy Act of 1974) and fidelity to their customers, the manager then tells me who the authorized signers were. This may or may not seem like an issue, however, Chase is on public record of breach of cyber security. I don't want my information shared with non-authorized persons. And this security issue overshadows the bad service due to closing. read more

My first visit to this branch, and I noticed that there was one teller window open and 6 people in line. A waaay too chipper young woman greeted me with a big smile, "Welcome to Chase. How can we help you today?" Obviously, she could help by opening another teller window and cashing my check. So, I told her that. She giggled, "Oh, I'm sorry I'm not a teller. She'll be right with you." "Could you ask the manager to open another window?" "She's not in yet. We have the inside ATM's here," she motioned to these two monstrosities next to the lone teller. Thanks, for nothing. This is poor service, plain and simple. There is no excuse to have people standing in line several minutes, when there are four teller windows and only one teller working. So to make a long story short, I'm a student working part time, barely making ends meet and all of a sudden I have weird overdraft frees. I thought to myself "oh great," I'm gonna go in there and they are gonna lecture me on how it's my fault and there's nothing they can do on their end. Steven, the branch manager saw me in line heard my story and said you know what come over here I'll take care of you. Not only did he take care of the fees of this month, he went back last month and saw that there was a fee and reimbursed me. I don't yelp much but its times like this that there's hope in humanity that there still are amazing, helpful, and genuine people out there. We need more people like Steven in this world! read more

There are so many things that wrong with this bank rude employees and a Manager who doesnt care to make his customers happy. I have never seen a branch manager that just dosent give a SH**. On multiple occasions I have waited 20+ min here in line. The bank tellers are awesome always friendly and helpful. I know it's a procedure that management needs to correct not the tellers so hopefully they take a look at there Yelp and take some of these suggestions into consideration. And I would like to add, this bank was not made to service this many customers Santee is becoming over crowded. So I always try and take that into consideration. read more

Have you ever walked into a bank and looked around, and thought to yourself that everyone behind the counter or desks, weren't going to be mentally equipped to handle your needs? That's this bank location. I went in to get a certified copy /proof of funds and I am so flabbergasted at their lack of knowledge and/or abilities that I left with nothing. I asked to talk to the bank manager because the supposed "account manager" could only simply provide me with a bank statement (which is accessible online). Whatever - that's fine, but when asking for a stamp, proof of certification that it was a legitimate document from the bank etc they told me they didn't have this, and chase does not do this. Nor do they have a stamp. Really ? Because I've never gone to a bank that could not* do this. Especially during the purchase of our house this was a necessity. I got flustered and asked to speak to the manager - and the account manager told me it would be 30 minutes. They closed in 15 - I have only gone to the chase in Rancho Bernardo and could not believe that something I have gotten numerous times before was unheard of at this location. Had to sit there and explain that when you work with the US Consulate in a foreign country every document requested needed to be certified and/or stamped by the bank. Left and thought these people were too moronic to handle such simple matters. I would not bank at this location - or submit any transactions - they are not the brightest bunch. The closest location to where I was at was lakeside - went in & told them what I needed. The lady assisting us was so sweet and pleasant. I didn't receive an email for a survey, so I thought I would voice my opinion through yelp.... the service at this branch is amazing! I came in a few months ago, and as soon as I walked into the branch I was welcomed by bank Emily, something new to me because my normal branch Navajo never has people greeting at the door. Unfortunately, I had some fraud on my account, but Emily took me to her desk and immediately knew how to fix the problem. I thought it was going to be a real hassle, closing my accounts and reopening them, moving over my auto pay to my mortgage ect ect.... But, Emily knew how to do all of it! And talked to me the whole time, the process felt like it flew by. She is very kind and has a great personality, honestly something I did not expect to find at a bank. A big thing for me is, I have a disabled daughter who is VERY talkative. I find that employees (in general) have a hard time with her, because she is mentally that of 5 years old. However, Emily was very patient with her, asked her questions like her name, favorite color, animal, ect ect... and she did not seem to be upset by my daughter's constant re-asking of the same questions. Fast forward to last week, I needed to come back in to deposit my daughter's check. Greeting at the door was once again Emily! But this time, she recognized me and greeted me by my name. Even remembered that I went on vacation to Florida and asked about my trip. But what really made my day, is she remembered my daughter's name. She called my daughter by name and spoke to her directly, asking her how she enjoyed her trip as well. My daughter was over the moon! It completely made her day, and she told me she had made a friend. I was beyond impressed and touched with the level of kindness given to me from this BANK employee... who would have guessed! This review is dedicated to Miss Katie Freeman, the best private banker that I have ever worked with. After buying a Lexus from Crown Lexus with an interest rate that I am not happy with, I came to this branch in Santee to seek for help. Katie took my application and walked me through the process with ease. She even spent her time to speak to a loan officer from chase to extend my loan terms. Although I did not get the terms that I would want to, her dedication, hard work, and professionalism made me feel that she was actually not a private banker but a very nice friend. The bank is clean, and kept nice. The employees are friendly and helpful, especially the blonde woman who helped me close my safety deposit box. She was awesome. I'm giving three stars because of wasted time. I stopped in to close my safety box, I had 15-20 min time gap before I had to get back to work, I was told by Sam that this process takes a minimum of 30 mins. Im self employed so I had to rework my schedule the next day, get my mother to open my shop, just so I would have the proper time to close the safety box. I get to chase, I'm greeted by the blonde woman, who is awesome btw, she grabs the slip, I sign it, she makes sure the box is empty and I'm out... IN LESS THAN 10 MINS!! She says this process is simple and quick 15 tops... like seriously? Sam made a big deal about a minimum of 30 mins. I told him I work 6 days a week, self employed, that I usually have a small gap of time, and he made me interrupt my day, my mothers, for NOTHING! That's poor customer service. First of all, I want to clarify that this review is of Chase as a whole, not the branch but Chase is very tight lipped about their corporate info, can't even file a complaint to someone who... how do I say this without being rude..... has English as a first language. That being said, I had to call 3 times in 1 week. Regardless of what was going on....I had a very bad week....I experienced THE WORST customer service I've ever experienced in my life. I've been a member for 14 years! and in the last week I was given unsolicited advice about my financial situation, lied to, refused to transfer to a supervisor, had words put in my mouth, refusal to disclose information, refusal to explain policies... absolute worst customer service and lack of knowledge by almost all that I spoke with. I filed 2 formal complaints, but know nothing will come of that. If you don't bank here and may be considering it.... RUN! they're generally ok.... until you need something... in other words they're fine collecting your money, but if you or they make a mistake they would rather keep your money and be rude than help their members. If you already bank here, whatever you do, DON'T call their costumer service line. You'll have better luck going into a branch.... and when I did, Santee branch was wonderful. Luckily we also have Navy Federal so BYE Chase..... shoulda coulda woulda treated us better!!! read more

This branch in dire need for a new manager. Second time in a row that money wired did not go out. The 1st time it was sent 4 days later! I went the 2nd time before noon, funds still not sent out at 3:30PM. Don't try calling them. I have called at least 25 times today to track my wire and not lose my Escrow. No one ever answers the many numbers they have on biz cards or on the web. How can an entire unsupervised branch hear a phone ring 8-10 times 87-10 times in a row and not answer it? People stood around not doing their jobs and when I spoke up that it was a really long wait the "coffee" lady or whatever her job is was really rude to me.
