Came around 5 pm and have been here a year ago. While hard to find, the service of the tellers is very nice. They have this cool deposit feature now where you don't have to fill out the slip of paper. Just bring your debit card. Would come back again! read more

If there was a negative star I would select it. Never bank with Chase. They held one of my paychecks for 10 days even after it cleared my bosses account AND they already approved and cleared a check from the exact same business a month prior and after calling multiple times trying to get my money released they refused. I could have been unhoused because of them not cleared a check for as long as they did all because they want to be "more cautious". This company has 20 other employees that do not have this issue. I am closing my account. read more

I work nearby and visit weekly. Sometimes twice in a day. I have never had less than optimal service. Every teller is exactly who I would want to have, if I had a bank. read more

Shameless!! Chase clearly states online that their bank branches are closed for business today 10/9 in observance of Columbus/Indigenous Peoples Day, but in actuality, they are open for business anyway. Quite a contradiction indeed! Not so observant or respectful after all.... read more

Chase Bank - Banks & Credit Unions Near Me - San Francisco, California

As I'm writing this review, I'm standing outside the office of their "banker" who is chitchatting with her friend and showing her photos of her sons in Hawaii for over 10min. I totally endorse friendly banking staff that act personable and talk to clients about non-banking related issues while they work but there was not a single key board stroke or any work-related actions in that entire 10min. They were sitting still (other than the moment when she grabbed those Hawaii photos). Now I finished writing my review on google and I'm posting on yelp, her chitchat is still going. Amazing. read more

This is a scathing review - or at least I would like it to be. I vehemently DESPISE HATE LOATH Chase Bank. I had an account for 15 years with WaMu (who I hated too), however once WaMu was purchased by Chase I noticed the banking policies and procedures increasingly worsened. I was limited in the amount of money I could spend daily from my checking account. Case in point, I was attempting to purchase an item that was $700+. Chase declined the charge to my debt card; and when I called them to question the declination, I was told of the daily limit. What; really? I should not have a problem in obtaining my money. So without haste, I cancelled my account. Unfortunately, and to my detriment, my roommate was also unhappy with her bank and sadly decided to bank with Chase. Of course, I encouraged her to try someone else (like Patelco - which I am extremely happy with), but she would not sway. My detriment - because the roommate gives me their portion of the rent on or after 1st of month, my bank puts a 5day hold on the check. The teller at my bank suggested I go directly to the banking institution and get the cash, then deposit the cash into my account. This is a real pain in the Arse, but I need the mula in my account NOW... so I did Wells Fargo (which was the roommate's previous bank) had no issue with honoring the check payment to me and without reservation, gave me the cash. I was done in seconds. Sadly, I noticed this morning, that the check was from Chase. So I went way out of my way to Chase in the Embarcadero Center; only to learn that Chase's policy is to charge $6 to folks who do not bank with them. (I guess they're a check cashing - payday type of place) Also folks are finger printed, and their thumb print is placed on the check being cashed. After waiting for 17 minutes, and watching/listening to the teller go back in forth with the other bank tellers about the procedures/fees, etc. The teller refused to cash the check because I had only one form of I.D. with me. Ah - the check I am attempting to cash here has the SAME address as my Driver's license; what's the problem? Seriously, the tellers at Chase acted as if I was trying to cash a fraudulent check (yes, I'm a slick criminal - I print up false Chase Checks and place my home address on them). Needless to say, I walked out screaming that the very shenanigan's they pull on people are the very reason I do not do business with them anymore; and if I had it my way, I wouldn't be cashing the check. Sadly, because it is now the 2nd of November - I have to swallow my pride as I'm left with no choice but to go back to the jackasses at Chase (of course bringing with me another form of I.D.) and pay them $6 to give me my money. WTF comes to mind? Did I mention that I VEHEMENTLY, DESPISE, LOATH, HATE Chase Bank! read more

As someone who frequents this branch, I believe it deserves better than Chris B's 1 star rating. I'm not saying Chase Bank is perfect, but this location has been above average and the tellers have always been charismatic and genuine to me. Minus the ATM outside that works half the time, you have a functional bank. There are almost never a wait and the lines move fast. I once had a difficult task for the tellers at this bank. They handed it with courtesy, professionalism, and only kept smiling. Where else can I maintain a free checking account? Plus points for having clean windows and a spacious setting. I always felt that my privacy was respected at this branch and it's easier to talk to the tellers because there aren't a bunch of customers crowding the cage. read more

Love this location. Especially when Isael helps me out. He's so fast and friendly. Gotta keep good people like him around.

The customer service I received yesterday at this branch I would hope is not typically how customers are treated. After waiting patiently for fifteen minutes in the lobby to speak with an account representative about my mortgage, and again approaching the teller window politely, "gimme a sec" is not the appropriate response from the teller who was the first and last person I spoke to inside this branch. Improving customer service at this branch will likely increase business. read more

Great location, terrible customer service by Winnie, the branch manager. If you want a tongue lashing, she's your girl. First, she doesn't listen, then misconstrues what you say, she then reprimands you. Hello Ms. Branch Mgr, you're just an employee. I think you've forgotten, without customers, there's no need for you, or your bad attitude. Don't waste your time here, take your money right across the street to First Republic at One Embarcadero. You will get top notch service and made to feel like a valued customer. Everyone else at this branch is very nice. Chase, get rid of this bad apple, or hide her in the operations area, away from customers. Having been a teller, I know how customers, and their precious money should be treated--honorably. read more

I went in to ask about my check deposit being withheld for a longer than usual period. Lady manager/VP came out and explained the situation and told me to contact her the next business day if I in rush for the funds. Oddly, the fund withheld notice clear up the next morning. Been here twice and was greeted warmly and fast service. Keep up the good work. read more

I go here usually for work, and I love this bank! Everybody is polite and seems to go out of their way to say hello and give a cheerful smile to each and every one of their customers. They usually don't like having more than 3 people in line so the wait time is most often very short. Their tellers and manager are very friendly, too, that it seems my bank runs feel more like hanging out with my friends. If you need to go to a Chase bank, you would be very happy about this particular branch. read more

People here are really nice and polite. Everytime I walk in for something I receive at least one smile. They call me Sir, and Mr. V. and I throw my head back and laugh, "What do I look like my father? Call me Huy!" And they laugh at my sad fantasy of having stooges call me Sir and Mr. Its okay though because every teller has candy and is well practiced with polite small talk with strangers. Its a pretty nice bank as far as Chase banks go. Others I've been to haven't been as friendly or efficient. I'm in an out super quickly and with a smile on my face. read more

Excellent customer service. I came here because it's the closest Chase branch from work. The staff I've spoken to so far are very friendly, and provided professional advice and complimentary portfolio coaching. Overall, I am very satisfied with this branch. I'm glad it's so close to work, but even if I have to move to another job, I will still stick to coming here. read more

I went to this branch to get some forign currency prior to international travel. I was told by the manager that the exchange is at the market rate and there are no fees I would have to pay. The currency arrived the next day, which was great, but the rate was 13% below market rate. When I asked if I can cancel the transaction I was told that they will take the money back at their "buy rate", which is 13% above market rate. There were no significant variations in the actual rate on currency market for that particular currency to account for this difference. This way if I did not take the money at a "rip off" exchange rate I would loose a total of 26%. Do not fall into the same trap. Use a reputable compay because Chase does not appear to be one! read more

Be prepared to wait over half an hour to get assistance from a banker. Tellers claim that the bankers are busy helping other customers yet all I see are offices with bankers on their computer doing anything but helping customers. 40 minutes and counting... read more

Great Customer Service from Ming-ming Tran. Very knowledgeable and very fast to solve problems. I recommend this branch to anyone shopping around for a good branch or a good bank. read more

I opened a savings account in March because they were offering a bonus. A few days after I opened the account, the banker who had opened that account (Ming-Ming Tran) telephoned me and said there was a bonus offer if I would open another savings account. This was a one-day only special, three days hence. I made an appointment to meet with him. Part way through processing the transaction, he told me I did not qualify because I did not have a Chase checking account. I had told him the week before I didn't want a checking account, and he didn't mention anything about a checking account when I spoke with him on the phone. I did not open the additional savings account. Yesterday, I went in to withdraw $9700 from my first and only Chase savings account. I asked for a check. The teller asked if I knew there was an $8 charge for a cashier's check. I said I did not know that, and I would take cash. He said he didn't like the idea of my walking around with that much cash and kindly waived the charge. I know some banks charge for a cashier's check if it is payable to a person other than the account holder, but I have never before encountered a bank that charges for a check payable to the account holder. Watch out for unknowledgeable bankers and sneaky fees! read more

Not enough tellers here at this location! It's the financial district for goodness sake. With the amount of money this bank is making, they should be able to afford another teller. read more

The branch manager at this particular location is the worst excuse of a bank employee I've ever encountered. Long story short; I was given misinformation by the teller as well as his supervisor when I deposited a personal check made out to me. I have an account with CHASE. When I deposited this check ($3000.00), I was told by the supervisor that the funds would clear at midnight. I find out the next morning that they're holding the funds for 10 business days! When I went in to this branch to complain and get this amended the following day, the 'manager' explained to me that they really weren't accountable for the misinformation I'd been given upon depositing the check. She said it was their 'back room' that had made the decision. To summarize, she had the same type of air generating from her mouth as that which comes out of her ass. I was furious upon leaving and she farted, "Thank you for coming in!" Terrible excuse for a professional. read more

This is the best bank I have ever banked with. There is rarely a long line, and when there is a long line they have other bank employees who come out and greet you, and help you with certain things like strait deposits, and several other services. Everyone I have encountered at this branch is VERY friendly and ALWAYS thanks you for banking with them. They don't just say "Thank You". They say it with a huge smile and make you feel like they really do appreciate your business, its definitely not just a generic thank you like you get at most businesses. I had an issue with a hold on a check I deposited and was upset and didn't understand why or what was going on. I went into the branch and spoke to Denise(Private Client Banker) and she explained everything and helped me get everything corrected on my account. She was very friendly and explained everything to me in detail. She is an amazing banker! I constantly hear horror stories from people about issues with their banks. I am happy to say I don't have any of those stories when it comes to this bank. read more
