Long version: Recently, they decided to swap all the ATM cards with debit Visa cards and to start using them, with no mention anywhere of the PIN changes I go to the ATM and try to get cash out, well I am denied reason incorrect PIN. Tried to call them, well they are closed. Called them the next day and I am told well I have to use the new PIN. I inquired as to why I have not received the pin (been a week), and why I was not notified of the PIN change. In the letter I received implied that I need to start using the card and there was no mention that the old cards are valid for a month . Now the only option for me is to go to the WSECU and get my PIN reset. I asked her if there is anything you can do to help me as I am flying out tomorrow, her response was well I can help you find a shared branch (which I can find myself on their web site). In short talking to the customer service representative was a waste of time ! Lastly, I had also tried to call them earlier this week when I was swapping the cards, but they put me on hold forever, and I hung up.

Umpqua has chosen to have all of their other stores on the Eastside to be closed most days of the week so if you need to do a cash transaction you will have to drive to this location which for some (like ourselves) is pretty far out of our way. Umpqua Bank is worst bank. Mortgage department can not even get the basic amortization amount…read moreright. On my HELOC, statement, the amortization (which is a basic payment details with principal and interest amount) was also incorrect. Even though I raised the concern it was not fixed, and I had to accept it as is. Many times when I called the representative was now knowledgeable enough to help and would tell me to call later. My only complaint is the drive-thru. Why is there not a drive-thru ATM like so many other locations? Honestly, the only time I use the ATM at this location is when I don't have time or I'm too lazy to drive to another Wells Fargo. If I have to get out of the car in the typically rainy Seattle area weather - why use the walk-up ATM? I might as well go inside where it's warm and there are friendly people to chat with - and I usually do.

When we were settling an out-of-state estate for our parents, Randi helped us numerous times over many months with notary and medallion signatures. She is always friendly, fast and efficient, a real pleasure to work with. The tellers are a pleasure to work with also, they are all friendly and greet us with a hello as soon as we set one foot inside the door. If Kristin is there she will greet me with my name, she has also helped us with notary service, she a real asset to the branch. Sherman, the mortgage consultant in the branch, has provided us with great service when we needed a refi both locally and for an out of state property, making it an easy process for us.

I cannot count how many times their hours have been a huge lifesaver because we're out running errands and I need to deposit a check and get cash. There is also hardly ever a line at this location, so I'm in and out quickly. The tellers here are really nice and quick. They'll chat with you if you want, or they'll wish you a happy day/evening/weekend and you're on your way to your next errand. Definitely a good experience each time. Between the convenience and the customer service, this is probably the branch I bank with most often.

Caution to small business owners...I would strongly caution small business owners against banking…read morewith Columbia Bank. My business account was closed after becoming overdrawn due to repeated $35 overdraft fees that continued compounding the negative balance. What started as a difficult financial situation quickly snowballed because of the fee structure itself. Although I fully paid the balance within 2 weeks after the account was closed, the bank still reported me to ChexSystems and has refused to remove the report -- making it extremely difficult to open a new business bank account elsewhere. I understand banks have policies, but there should also be reasonable consideration for customers who resolve the balance in good faith. Punishing small business owners long after the debt is paid feels excessive and harmful. If you're a business owner already navigating financial stress, be aware of how quickly overdraft fees and ChexSystems reporting can escalate into much larger problems. All I got was a sorry, don't know what to tell you, from the branch manager.

Beware! Umpqua destroyed my credit due to terrible business practices…read more I have had a HELOC for years with Umpqua and have never had a late payment, in fact my balance has been $0 for several months. In the past I have made several attempts to set up autopay to avoid accidentally missing a payment since the amount is different every month when I'm using the LOC, but they do not have that option. With no notice, Umpqua reported a $75 late payment to the credit agencies without notifying me of the amount being due at all. I had excellent credit and this one report dropped my score by nearly 100 points and I rely on having excellent credit for my profession. I later found out this $75 charge was an annual fee for having the account (I'm fine with the annual fee), but they never notified me that there was a payment due. No letter, no call, no notification, even my online account showed $0 balance due. After talking with them, I found out that I was expected to see it in a small section of the monthly e-statement. Why would I be reading through all of my statements looking for this when my balance shows $0?! I have been nothing but a perfect client that wants to pay my bills, but when they hide an annual fee and don't show it as balance due, they blast my credit instead of simply notifying me that there is a small charge due! At this point they refuse to dispute the negative credit remark despite me paying the tiny balance as soon as I knew about it. This my not be a big deal for some, but I use my credit every month for my business and this will cost me tens of thousands of dollars. Absolutely terrible, Umpqua!

I've been with this bank for too long- they are awful- always have been- they make horrible…read moremistakes mixing accounts, they don't have personnell there (since when does banking stop when someone is "at lunch"?). You can't do international wires from here. Customer service is absolutely horrible - ineffectual and unapologetic. If I didn't have such complicated accounts - I would leave.
