I have a disability that makes it challenging to handle numbers and I am older and sometimes struggle with technology. But, I don't believe the problems I'm having are because of my disability. For example, when I have someone deposit money in my account, I give them the information for my checking account. However, this credit union routes the deposit to my savings account. Then, when a check comes through, they charge $3 to transfer the funds to pay for the check. Following up with the main branch, I am told that I am the person who requested the deposit go into savings. So, that cost $12 this month and, apparently, it is impossible to fix. I could give another ten examples of problems I have which are primarily related to online banking, but it's 2017 almost and the people who handle these issues are either not knowledgeable or are unable to communicate effectively enough to explain why these problems occur or how to fix them. When I was speaking with the branch manager today, she commented that she was "so sick of this," and kept saying that I always come in there and yell at them. She insisted that I was yelling at her on the phone and, hand to God, I did not yell at anyone. Anyway, she told me it was okay for me to take my money elsewhere. I called the main branch to try to discuss the issue of the manager having some kind of personal issue with me which was causing her to be very unprofessional AND I STILL NEEDED TO KNOW WHY MY ACCOUNT WAS INCORRECT when I viewed it online. I was unable to get through to anyone who could help me, I left messages and still don't have a call back yet. So, I will be moving my money after 20 something years and I do not recommend anyone thinking that this is a good choice for cheap banking and that small-town, personal touch. There are definitely kind and professional people there. But, if you need help with anything involving technology, you may end up with one mess after another and a branch manager who is sick of it, in her own words. Hey, I am sick of it, too. Find a different place to put your money. Truity is a much better credit union and I can't imagine anyone over there demonstrating such complete lack of self-control or unprofessionalism.
