I stopped by the bank to get a simple one page document notarized. I wasn't sure where to go so I went to the teller line since there were two tellers and no one else around. The first teller was dealing with a customer and the second teller....just standing around (for moral support)? So I waited for about a minute before I just approached the free teller to ask if I was even in the right place. She informed me there was only one notary here today which was a CSR/banker seated in a booth with a customer. She directs me to go to some municipal building and I informed her no thanks....I'm here so I may as well wait.
I then proceed to sign the book to meet with the banker and went to sit in the waiting area. There were two women already there and looking visibly agitated. I inquire whether they've been waiting long and they responded 'yes'. As I sat looking around, the chairs were dirty, the carpet was dirty and even the coffee pots were dirty although filled with coffee for customers to help themselves....ummmm no thanks!
After about ten minutes one of the women got up to leave. At that point the banker informs her she will be with her in 5 minutes and the woman informed her no because she's not next on the list. The banker suggest she call the 800 number. The woman returns to her seat, dials the 800 number and was informed that due to bad weather it would be a longer than expected wait time. She was furious!! Meanwhile, the banker in the booth is discussing vacation trips and how many kids the client has....unbelievable!!
So as not to torture as much as I was, let's fast forward ten more minutes before the same freaking teller that I went to when I walked in, walks over and states that she can do notary. So she's asking us who's next for notary. . I thought there was only one notary in the building???
I get that Chase is a big bank and cares less about customers than a smaller bank would, but COME ON....this is ridiculous and definitely NOT what customer service is all about. They need to get it together or I will switch banks just like I did to my LAST bank! read more
