I I would not recommend Wells Fargo to anyone any time. I went with my girlfriend about a month ago…read moreto make sure we followed all the rules in closing out a CD she had. It had automatic renewal and we wanted to make sure it didn't rollover for another year. We were told to come in on May 14 which we did. We found out the auto renewal had not been switched off however there is a seven day grace period. Thank goodness we went in on the date we were advised to. In reality there was a $52 fee if we closed out the CD today versus waiting till tomorrow--obviously are waiting. The assistant branch manager told us that their systems do this all the time---provide wrong dates. Yet there was no leeway in waiving the fees to actually execute the transaction today. I took the day off, she took the day off, and we made plans to take care of other errands as well; but once again Wells Fargo has demonstrated that they are not customer focused at all. I can't believe they continue to have customers --given the way they've abused their customers in the past and continue to do so moving forward. Never will I do business with Wells Fargo. I can remember when they were rated one of the 10 safest banks in America--I would guess they don't make the rankings anymore.

Not happy with Trustco…read more After paying timely for years, an issue came up where I needed to clear funds. I called the bank and was told not to worry, I have a 10 day grace period. Perfect! More than enough time until my check is direct deposited. I paid a few other bills first. Unfortunately, what they failed to tell me is that they would put a hold on my checking out for the amount of the mortgage. After seeing my payments were rejected - along with $30 fees! I called the bank only to find the entire amount of the mortgage was deducted and put on hold. What is the purpose of that? I could have just paid mortgage then. When asking them to release the hold, so other payments would not be rejected, I was told to wait until it clears overnight, but was told a new hold would be generated at that time. So what am I waiting for, another hold? I was told at first, Loan Operations could remove the hold. I was transferred and disconnected three times. Then called directly myself 5 times and was picked up, then cut off. Called back the branch and spoke to the manager who didn't want me to speak or explain anything. She just kept talking. Please, first listen to the customer! When I tried to keep talking to explain my situation, she must have put the phone on hold, or in the air because she wasn't on the line. She acted like my situation was a joke to her. Then I was told Loan Operations couldn't clear the hold. Their error is going to cost me big time in fees now. It was needless. I wouldn't have planned to pay my bills in this order if I hadn't been told the incorrect information. Trustco should be responsible for the fees.

Trustco is refusing to refund the $4900 that was stolen from my business account from an obviously…read moreforged check. There was no valid account signature on the check, it was not our check, and a police report was filed. Federal law says they had five days to restore the money to my account. It's been over a month, and they are still refusing the credit. My payroll checks are bouncing as a result.
