" A minute later two employees came out of a back room saying "we needed to get Euros for a customer" When they came out of the back room I was the only customer in the bank. I was helped immediately. The other customer didn't return to get his Euros while I was there. A third employee clocked in at 1:05pm. How do you have a bank where everyone leaves the front unattended! Strange!

It appears to.most to be a…read moresmall bank, but the dedicated people who work there from receptionists/customer service representatists to tellers, to bank managers to personnel in the mortgage department all treat customers with the utmost respect and concern over their banking needs; better service than many large banking institutes. Amegy is always looking out over customer accounts to ensure no fraud is taking place. They have called us no less than 5 times in the last year to ensure charges were indeed ours and actually have caught several charges that were not ours by tracking activity. I know many don't care for that; we on the otherhand do and appreciate it very much. I wouldn't ever think of changing banks.

It looks like a brand new location in a brand new plaza next to the area where we're going to be possibly moving to, a good chunk of miles N/NE of Houston. It's nice, it's cheap, but it's a hell of a commute. Everyone was friendly, it was expedited, I didn't have anything bad to say, I got the information I needed. There are no fees for your basic checking and savings account. You don't need to maintain a minimum balance. There are only fees if you don't manage your account and overdraft. There are a ton of services the bank provides. One being a free notary of you are an account holder. This has come in handy numerous times for me. Loans are somewhat easy to come by if you have fair credit. Recently they have their own mortgage company and started selling many different kinds of insurance. Investments are available here too with advisors. Having so many great things going for the bank makes it hard for me to list the negative things. But I must mention. ATM is frquently down on weekends when you need it the most. Their ATM network Allpoint is fee free which is great but only if the Atm's are working. I have had 2 instances where bill pay was drawn from my account by other members of the cu and they make you jump thru hoops to get your money back not a happy person both times that happened. The final negative thing is that they used to give you a cash loyalty bonus in Feb every year but they have cut it out, their excuse get this Covid 19 lol. Overall if you are looking to change banks I do recommend going with these guys.

I have been a member of a credit union before because of my parents; however, I closed my Primeway…read moreaccount and never took advantage of the benefits. I was in the market for a vehicle and looked into various auto loan interest rates. My dad told me about Shell FCU because they advertise it on 740 KTRH (am radio). I called two other credit unions before deciding on Shell FCU. They had the best rates. I looked up the nearest location to the dealership and found this Wilson Rd. branch. I walked right in, checked in with the friendly receptionist and told her I wanted to be a member and apply for an auto loan. You have to live or work in Harris County and open an account (can be as little as $5 for a savings account) to be a member. She asked for two forms of ID which can be your driver's license and a major credit card with your name. She checked me in, and I waited in the waiting area. There's a TV that shows where you are in line. Since I was at the dealership for hours, it was nice to see that they made fresh popcorn. When I was a kid, my parents used to bank somewhere that also served popcorn. It was nostalgic, not to mention, tasty. I think they have popcorn on Fridays. Aside from that, there's a coffee/hot chocolate maker. I came in about 45 minutes before closing. I was not rushed at all. Madison, the Branch Lead, was so personable and patient. She took her time to obtain all the information needed and was thorough to make sure the underwriters reviewing the auto loan information had everything they needed. Since she wasn't going to be in the next day, she had an associate, Luz, who would assist me. After I completed the auto loan, Madison walked me to the teller to make a deposit. The receptionist unlocked the doors for us when leaving. I returned the next day to meet with Luz to finalize the auto loan. Luz answered all my emails in a timely manner in the morning before I got there and also contacted the dealership for additional info on my behalf. She was also friendly and explained to me what the costs would be when I asked about gap and extended warranty. Shell FCU has the best rates. I wish this branch was closer to where I live or the staff worked in the Spring location because all of the staff are friendly and helpful. It was such a seamless process. I would go out of my way off the beltway just for their excellent customer service.
