I'm going to take a deep breath. Ok, here goes. Do not, under any circumstances, go to this bank. DO NOT DO IT. I had an account with Chase for about six years. I think their credit cards are pretty great. But everything else is horrible. I would literally rather go to a gynecologist then step foot in another Chase. I opened a money market account which at some time they discontinued. The account stayed open, but from that moment on started collecting a $12 monthly fee. Did Chase tell me of this fee? No. So, it went unnoticed for five months because it's at the very bottom of their statement. I went in to speak with a financial adviser about it and close the account so I wouldn't get any more fees. After calling Chase to refund these fees, they said they could not refund them because the account was closed. Why was this not mentioned to me by the financial adviser you may ask. Sigh. I don't know. Why didn't he try to erase the fees for me? Not sure. Instead, I call a customer service line to speak with someone from a foreign country who clearly couldn't care less whether I was happy or whether I caught the bubonic plague and shriveled up and died. My experience was the equivalent to Chase using my bank account like a cookie jar. Hope you enjoy my $60.
I will not elaborate about the other experience I had several months previous to that for brevity's sake. However, I believe my point is clear. There are many other banks who will treat you much better than Chase. So save yourself some pennies and bank elsewhere. read more
