They were giving me a rate I couldn't refuse, I was told over the phone to do it online, but since this was my first ever loan I truly wanted to go in person so I can ask questions, and make sure I'm doing everything correctly! The person who helped me over the phone, informed me about a service they had which was CarScouts! I told her I already had a car, but I would love to hear from them since this car might get sold at any moment! John from CarScouts then called me and was giving me all the information about them, at this point I still didn't start the loan process, but I knew that I wanted to go with Southland! He told me to stop by this location in Downey and to speak with Edgar, he said he would be there and could answer all the questions I had. So I went in and immediately I sat down with Edgar and we instantly clicked! He made the process extremely quick and painless! I am very appreciative of him for helping me with all the questions I had! The car that I planned on getting was sold, so I picked up the phone and called John from CarScouts, and in the matter of a couple of hours we had a car ready to go for the next day! I purchased the vehicle on Jan 21, and I'm extremely thankful for both Edgar and John, and especially thankful to Southland Credit Union for helping me in this chapter of my life. Since I opened my account I encountered lots…read moreof delays and holds and the amount of invasiveness they have in your account makes me uncomfortable. It takes a lot of following up to get things done and the delays have resulted in me having late payments and unnecessary holds. It is starting to affect my day to day and I think it will be best for me to close my account. I haven't had experiences like this at any other branch so I'm not sure if it's just Downey or if they do it on purpose or what exactly but it's added unnecessary stress to know my bank isn't working for me but rather making my life harder.
